Three months later

The month was now June and my birthday was right around the corner. I was turning 20. I couldn't believe I wasn't going to be a teen anymore. I mean I'm sure it wouldn't be much different than how things were now but it still scared me a bit.

I looked out the window zoned out thinking about how I wanted to spend the rest of my life. I wanted a baby since I was 12 and almost let a one of my exes give me one , that was until he broke up with me for my ex friend.

"Bitch is you okay?" My home girl asked breaking my focus and making me remember where I was.

"Yea I been thinking about life a shit my bad" I chuckled

"Oh cause you over there looking all sad and shii" she said glancing over at me then back on the road

"Anyways I'm hungry , where you wanna go to eat?"

"Ouuu can we go to chikfila? I want a spicy chicken sandwich badd" I said point at it

She didn't say anything and just pulled into the lot.

"You wan go inside or the drive through?"

"Inside so we can sit and figure out what imma do for my birthday" I said pushing the button to release my seat belt

After ordering our food we found a table with two chairs by the window and sat down to wait for our food.

"So what you trynna do ?" She asked me pulling up the notes app on her phone

"Ummm I don't really know cause everyone goes out to eat for they're birthday , but I wanna go to the beach, the mall and out to eat but I feel like doing allat in one day is a lot"

"Why you wanna go to the mall on your birthday?" She asked raising her eyebrow

"Cause I wanna go shopping and my birthday onna Saturday so hella people gon be there and niggas show out when they see it's yo birthday" I giggled

"You is a hoe , imma have to try that shit for my birthday"

"Ouu he's fine , I got it" ja'laiyah said hoping up out her seat to grab our food (ja-lay- uh)

I glanced over my shoulder and watched them and from what I could see they were hitting it off.
The boy had dreads that reached his chin and some of them were dyed blonde, he was lightskin with red/brown undertones and height was was probably around 5'9-5'11. He was cute most definitely not my type but comparing him to some of ja'Laiyah's exes he was definitely hers.

She came back to her seat and sat down giggling with the biggest smile on her face.

"I got the number" she whispered still grinning ear to ear

"Look at youu!!" I chuckled taking my food out the bag

"But what to yo birthday." She trying to focus

" if we can go to the beach around 12 leave at 2 , go to the mall at 3 stay there till 5 then we can leave for dinner at 6:30 to 7 and still have the rest of the night after dinner to do stuff"

"That sounds perfect" I said agreed with her plan

"Okay bet" she replied typing it out in her notes
"Now that's that's finished , how are you getting your hair ?"

"I was thinking trying a new color, I wanna do that purple with pink undertones , or that teal/ turquoise color"

"Either one of those would eat on you, especially with a side part and curls" she said studying my face

"And if you get a white dress it would make it really pop" she said smiling at me

"Yeaa put that down , if you can find me a good wig that will come in time then I'll find a dress and heels" I said before putting two fries in my mouth

"Bet" she replied opening up Pinterest to look for inspo

"Thank you boo" I winked blowing her kiss

"Anything for you bae" she replied matching my energy
