Chapter- 28 (MALICE- PART TWO)

'When is the simulation going to start again? It can't leave us on a cliffhanger.' Huaisang whined.

'Why are you whining like a baby when it should be me who should be worried about the outcome on the other side?' Jiang Cheng snapped at him, worry eating away at his nerves.

'Aiyah, A-Cheng, come on, calm down. It's not like you are going to kill me on the spot. Had that been the case, you would have finished me long ago, I guess. The most you might do is scare me a bit.' Wei Ying said with such conviction that Jin Ling, who had witnessed his Dajiu's pale face that day, felt saddened at the suffering these two brothers were just about to go through.

He was still thinking about that day as he watched his jiujiu shaking his legs in nervousness. But before he could think of anything to calm him down, the simulation had picked up from where it had left.

Jiang Cheng added, "Lend me your dog."

And that one sentence in itself was enough to shake the three Jiang siblings from inside. The others were slightly shocked, too. Jiang Cheng clenched his fist as he stared at his future self in hatred. Wei Ying was speechless, but somewhere in his heart, he was still holding onto the belief that his shidi won't use his biggest fear as a weapon against him.

Jin Ling pulled himself out of the daze. He hesitated for a moment and only whistled after Jiang Cheng shot him two lightning-sharp beams from his eyes. The dog dashed over in just a few leaps. Wei WuXian, body as stiff as an iron board, could only be dragged forward, walking one step at a time.

Jiang Cheng found an empty room and threw Wei WuXian inside, closing the door behind him. The dog followed them inside and sat by the door. Wei WuXian had his eyes tightly locked on it, afraid that it would pounce on him at the next possible moment.

Remembering how he had been controlled in just a short amount of time, he exclaimed in his heart that Jiang Cheng really knew the best way to deal with him.

'Jiang WanYin, I swear, if you even touch a hair on Wei WuXian's head with that beast, I will personally go to your realm and kill you with my bare hands! I know there is no way I can go there now, but if Wei WuXian can create this time bubble in the future, he can create another way to travel to the future. And then I will kill you personally. BEWARE!!!' Jiang Cheng was extremely angry.

Wei Ying was a bit surprised, to be honest. He knew that his shidi was always on his side but had never seen him so protective, so openly.

Wei WuXian and Jiang WanYin in the other realm had their eyebrows raised in surprise. They shared an eyelock and burst out laughing, their previous tension over A-Ling bleeding away. It was even new for the Juniors who were gawking at the younger version of the Jiang Siblings in a new light.

Meanwhile, Jiang Cheng slowly sat down by the table and poured himself a cup of tea.

Madam Yu sat up excitedly as the scene unfolded. It absolutely thrilled her to watch her weak son finally take a stand against that bastard who was crouched like a fucking dog in the corner.

Her excitement was so palpable that Jin Ling felt irritation deep into his bones as he took in her expression. He so wanted to snatch ZiDian from her and teach her a nice lesson, but controlled himself with so much difficulty.

For a moment, no one spoke a word. The cup of tea was still steaming hot. Without having a single sip of it, he hurled it onto the ground.
Jiang Cheng pulled a curt smile on his face, "... Don't you have anything to say to me?"

Growing up, Jiang Cheng had seen Wei WuXian's awful state countless times as he ran away from dogs. Others may have believed him if he denied it, but in front of someone who knew him so thoroughly, it'd be impossible to argue. This was an obstacle harder to overcome than Zidian. With a sincere tone, Wei WuXian replied: "I don't know what to say to you."
