"Great news! Wei WuXian has died!”
And literally everyone looked at him, while he shivered a bit. His death hadn't rattled him, as much as the joy in the voice did. The fact that, people celebrated his death, was unnerving. Even Lan Zhan who was never the one to be showing any emotions, stole a glance at him.
Jiang Yanli kept her hands on his shivering ones, urging him to look at her, while she just whispered, 'Everything will be fine'.
Madam Yu could only think, 'Good Riddance '.
The screen showed people gossiping around.
Less than a day had passed since the siege on Luanzang Hill, and the news spread through the cultivation world as if it sprouted wings, surpassing even the speed of warfare.
For a while, from the most prominent sects to rogue cultivators, everyone was discussing the siege lead by the Four Great Sects and followed by hundreds of smaller ones.
“The YiLing Patriarch has died? Who could have killed him?”'Yiling Patriarch????' Asked a confused Jiang Cheng, 'Didn't they just now say that it's Wei Wu.... I mean... (stuttering) Have you ever been to Yiling Wei WuXian?'
'No. After Jiang shushu, brought me from there, I haven't been there since.' Wei WuXian answered as he saw everyone looking at him curiously.
“Who other than his shidi, Jiang Cheng, putting an end to his own relative for the greater good. Jiang Cheng led the Four Sects of YunmengJiang, LanlingJin, GusuLan, and QingheNie to destroy his ‘den’—Luanzang Hill.”
Now it was an absolute shock to everyone sitting there. Wei Wuxian could only think, as to what he had done to receive such a death. But Jiang was looking on shocked, 'How could I kill my shi-xiong.'
"No no no.... this...this....this.... must be a lie. I... I can't...", Jiang Cheng literally curled himself into a ball, beside Wei Ying, who then turned towards him and brought him closer to himself, " Hey, hey its fine. I am sure, this must either be just a hearsay or I must have deserved it..."
Jiang Yanli held his hand, tears sprouting in her eyes. She was about to comfort him, when Madam Yu scoffed, "Off course you must have deserved it. Bringing shame to our sect. Huh..."
Though Lan Qiren didn't say a word, he could agree that Wei Wuxian must have deserved it, coz he had such disastrous thoughts at such a young age. But the other Lans were not so supportive of this idea.
QinghengJun could only contemplate in silence, while Jin Guangshan and Wen Ruohan thought respectively, 'What must I have won from this seige. It does quite a big scandal by the sounds of it"; "Why was Wen sect not mentioned?"
“I must say, good riddance!”
“Good riddance indeed! We finally eliminated this scourge.”
“If not for the YunmengJiang Sect adopting and teaching him, he would have only been a hobo living on the streets, let alone causing mayhem as bold as the ones these days. The head of the Jiang Sect raised him as his own child, yet he defected from them and became the enemy of the cultivation world, bringing shame upon the Jiang Sect, even leading to its near-extermination. He is the prime example of biting the hand that feeds him!”Wei Wuxian could only grow more horror struck as he heard all the rumors and hearsay and his heart literally broke at what all he seemed to be doing.
“Jiang Cheng allowed this fellow to live for too long. If I were him, at the time of the defection, I wouldn’t have just stabbed him. In fact, I would have thoroughly examined the disciples of the sect again, so that he couldn’t do those crazy things he did later on. Who cares about the so called ‘considerations’ that he gave to his childhood friend.”
