Chapter- 33 (DEW - PART ONE)

The screen lit up after a few minutes, and everyone became alert. A few plates of snacks had appeared on the table, and everyone took a bite of them and sat a bit more cozily while watching the screen intently. Now, even though they were getting impatient to know the identity of the demonic arm, for the Juniors were no help in providing clues, they could only wait for the simulation to answer their questions. They just hoped it would be revealed soon. The suspense was killing them.

After entering the city, the two walked side-by-side through the bustling crowd. All of a sudden, Lan WangJi asked, "How is the Curse Mark?"

Wei WuXian replied, "Jin Ling was buried too close to our dear friend and got stained with quite a lot of resentful energy. It faded a bit, but it's not completely gone. Chances are we can only find a way to remove it after we find the whole corpse or at least the head. It doesn't really cause much trouble anyway."

Jin Ling felt sad yet again as he was reminded of the pain Wei WuXian was going through, because of his stupidity. He looked guiltily at him as Wei Ying chuckled and waved it off. That somehow made him sadder, as it made him feel that his Dajiu was worth so much more than he was being offered. He truly felt indebted to HanGuang-Jun for taking care of him and loving him so much in their stead.

The "dear friend" was none other than the man that had been cut to pieces. Since they didn't know who he was, Wei WuXian suggested that they referred to him as a "dear friend". Lan WangJi didn't say anything after hearing it, but he didn't object to it either, which could be interpreted as a silent approval. Of course, he himself wouldn't ever use the word.

That earned a laugh from everyone else, as Lan Zhan agreed with the simulation, though none of it was verbal.

Lan WangJi, "How much is 'a bit'?"

Wei WuXian indicated with his hands, "A bit is just a bit. How do I explain it? Should I take my clothes off and show you?"

'Aiyah... Wei WuXian, please, I beg you, please don't aggravate HanGuang-Jun anymore. I don't think I would be able to watch you die yet again, and even more violently than before, just because you couldn't control your bratty mouth.' Jiang Cheng almost cried thinking of possible political problems if the Lans took offense at Wei Ying's needling, though he doubted that once he heard what HanGuang-Jun said next.

Lan WangJi's brows shifted slightly, as if he was actually worried that Wei WuXian would strip right here and right now. He replied with an indifferent tone, "Take them off after we return."

'Ah!' Wei Ying, who enjoying up until this point was startled at the sudden turn of tables. His cheeks suddenly turned into a shade of red, almost giving a fierce competition to the ripest of tomatoes. It was again one of those few times, when he was left speechless by this fuddy-duddy.

Lan QiRen closed his eyes in despair. Here he thought that Wei WuXian needed to be checked consistently for his naughty tendencies. But now it seemed to be the other way round. This twisted, future version of nephew seemed to be way more difficult to handle and shameless to the power of infinity. He could only imagine what his future self must have to go through everyday because of this devil may care attitude from someone who had never strayed from the righteous path and for whom rules were the way of living. He just couldn't understand how a person could change so much.

Wen Ruohan on the other hand was having too much fun at the expense of QiRen and so wanted to send a message through their link, also checking if it was still closed, 'Did you forget how freaky you are in the sheets when away from the prying eyes of everyone? You had left me speechless the first time you initiated our bedroom shenanigans. Why do you think your nephews would be any less? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.'
