'R-Rescue me?'

Sora immediately regained her hope after hearing Fubuki's words. Her bleak future had suddenly disappeared like a lie thanks to her rescuer. Fubuki picked up Sora in a hurry and brought her to her car, which appeared to be a sports car with an ambulance siren over it. Once they were inside, Fubuki took off the duct tape binding Sora's arm.

"Sorry, can you take off the rest on your own? I'll have to get us out of here before Suisei gets here. Ah, don't forget to wear your seatbelt," Fubuki apologetically requested before she began driving the car away.

Sora took off the duct tape covering her mouth before answering, "Y-Yes, I can do that!"

She quickly wore her seatbelt as Fubuki had warned before her eyes wandered to the sides. The luxury sedan that Suisei had used before was parked carelessly to the side, abandoned. Thankfully, Suisei was nowhere in sight. Otherwise, the situation might've been more dangerous with bullets whizzing through the air. The sedan quickly went out of their sight as Fubuki's car returned to the main road. They speedily took off, weaving left and right past the other cars on the road.

"Um, how did you manage to find me, director?" Sora asked out of curiosity.

Fubuki began explaining, "I was just on my way back from the casi- from tending to an emergency patient when Subaru suddenly called in. She told me about what happened to you and asked me to keep an eye out in the area. On my way, I spotted the car that Subaru described to me, so I decided to carefully check the surroundings. Then I heard a rustling sound from the bushes, and there you were."

"I see... Thank goodness you found me..." Sora let out a sigh of relief. Somehow, she managed to get away from Suisei just as she was about to give up on escaping.

Fubuki shook her head in response, "No, no, I heard from Subaru that it was thanks to you that they managed to find where you were."

"What do you—Oh, the phone call!" Sora recalled her daring attempt to give out any kind of information to the unknown caller. At the time, she was desperate enough to grab hold of anything that could save her from her predicament.

"Subaru said that she tried to contact you when she found out Suisei was holding you hostage. Surprisingly, you managed to pass some crucial information to her, to the point where they managed to pinpoint areas to patrol. It must've been tough to do so under Suisei's pressure. You did well, Sora." Fubuki gave a sincere compliment.

"I... I did? I really did?" Sora stammered out, still unsure of what she did. Her body began to relax as the realization that she had escaped finally settled in. For a moment, she simply sat quietly to take it all in. Fubuki gave her some time to collect herself while she reported her findings to Subaru through a phone call.

After seeing Sora calming down, Fubuki informed her, "I already told Subaru that I managed to pick you up. We'll meet her at the hospital, okay?"

"Yes... Thank you..." Sora thanked her, relieved that she was finally safe.

"I don't know if you're unlucky for running into her or lucky for surviving against her. She'd been notorious around the city as someone dangerous," Fubuki commented.

"I just heard about that from her own mouth. She even called herself a monster!" Sora added on.

"A monster... Well, she certainly fits one." Fubuki nodded her head in agreement.

Soon enough, the car finally reached its destination. Fubuki parked the car in the parking lot with trained movement, showing how often she'd been traveling around as a doctor. She escorted Sora out into the hospital, where a girl with short brown hair and a police officer's attire.
