chapter twenty one

(— Try and Fix It?)

YUJIN

It's been two weeks already since the fight between Minji and Hanni started. I started arranging my notes to head out of my uncle's office when he follows and clears his throat. I furrowed my eyebrows and turned my head to him.

"What's wrong with those two?"

Damn, when did uncle become so quick-witted?

"They look like ex couples trying to avoid each other." My uncle lowly chuckles under his breath but his face says otherwise. He looked worried.

I could only let out a small laugh and shook my head. As much as I wanted to make everything between them alright, I don't have the power to do so. I bowed and immediately left to visit Hanni. Maybe check if she's alright.

As I walk down the empty hallways, my eyes immediately caught a figure that's seems to be in great despair. Minji. She looks so pitiful. No— rather, it was heartbreaking seeing her sitting on the cold floor in front of Hanni's door. Her back in contact with the room's wall.

She's been doing that for almost two weeks now...

How could the famous idol who's never done anything like that is suddenly waiting patiently outside for the girl she likes.

Patiently waiting for herself to be forgiven.

A deep sigh escaped my mouth. Biting my lip, I walk slowly towards Minji. I wanted to help her but I understand Hanni's situation and I know she's hurting right now. And I know Mini's hurting too, but doing this wouldn't help both of them.

Nothing will change even if she stands there for an hour if the other isn't ready to forgive yet.

I saw how Minji stiffens and shivers upon my sight. She was helpless. Her eyes looks like they were about to cry any moment now. We stayed there staring at each other for a while until I decided to break the silence.

"Minji, is still Hanni not talking to you?" I smiled, hoping to make the atmosphere a little lighter.

She gave me a slight smile but I knew it meant the opposite. The two haven't been talking to each other. Her deep breaths tells me how much she badly regrets everything and if I could do anything right now I wouldn't want to see her like that.

"Minji, the floor's cold. Please get up now." I softly suggested but she didn't follow.

"I'm so sorry I messed up Yujin." Her eyes closed as she continues to ask for forgiveness.

"Minji you've tell me that a coup—"

"I know." Minji paused, her fingers fidgeting. "I just want to tell you again. She's not talking to me anymore." Minji raises her stare to reach mine.

"I'm sorry."

"I know Minji." I nodded closing my eyes.

"But Minji- I guess Hanni just really needs time to think about everything and I guess you too. Don't rush things because you're hurting more. Don't put yourself into a more painful situation." I slowly said.
