Failed Meetings

A/N: Firehedgehog and KattraKnit both requested updates, so I'll try and do another update to the story but for now, here's this chapter. I apologize in advance for the quality

"*sigh* Okay, treaty attempt one failed, so did two, three, four, five, six, and seven. Eight we came close but then Killer tried to steal Ink's paints to see if they would work on him, and on attempt nine Dream and Nightmare started bringing up their past," muttered Epic as he crossed out another idea. He scrutinized his plan again hoping to figure out what he could do. He thought back more to the previous attempts.

*flashback*

*Second attempt*

"Okay, so, can we just allow people to do what is necessary to keep the balance in check?" Said Classic.
"But what if someone starts going overboard again?" Said Dream.
"Yeah, what if the Lemon goes nuts?" Said Nightmare.
"I'm not a lemon. Also, how do I know you aren't going to go nuts again?" Said Dream with a glare.
"Yeah well you-!" Nightmare began and the twins began arguing.

*attempt three*

"Hey, what if I make more neutral type AUs that aren't overly positive or negative?" Suggested Ink.
"Bruh, that's a great idea!" Exclaimed Epic, happy Ink had thrown out a helpful idea.
"That won't do anything for existing AUs though," pointed out Dust.
"Besides, your creation is slowed and limited now so as to not tip the balance. It would take years to have any effect." Said Nightmare.
"Do you have any better suggestions?" Asked Dream.
"No, but we need something that will work now, not in a couple decades," growled Nightmare. Eventually, the meeting ended with no real results other than them adding the idea that Ink needed to be careful not to tip the balance with overly positive or negative AUs.

*attempt four*

"Why do ya even need the raids?" Asked Fresh.
"We get supplies and a decent boost to negativity." Said Nightmare.
"How about we add a clause to the treaty to help the darker AUs get supplies they lack without raids?" Suggested Blue.
"That would be helpful," agreed Horror.

"What about the balance?" Asked Cross.
"Maybe an alternate way of causing negativity?" Suggested Dream again.
"What would even work for that?" Snapped Nightmare.
"I don't know!" Cried Dream.

*attempt five*

"Umm... is there any unharmful ways to spread negativity? Like... I don't know, being annoying?" Suggested Blue.
"That could work!" Said Dream happily.
"Not if the balance tips too far. It's enough to help keep the balance stable once it's already stable, but it won't stabilize it," pointed out Nightmare.

*attempt six*

Somehow this attempt ended with childish yelling and insults between the two sides. The neutral side quickly separated them before anything went too far.

*Attempt seven*

"Okay... we now have Reaper here on the neutral side to help discuss the balance as he is part of a balance himself," said Classic with a sigh.
"Welcome Reaper bruh," said Epic. He hadn't run into Reaper much as Error and Reaper just normally complained somewhat at him when they did meet.
"Gen, my rad broski, is also here," said Fresh, pointing to Geno.
"So, any suggestions?" Asked Blue hopefully.
"Well, right now, the balance seems to swing between being tilted between the two sides... honestly, maybe generating positivity and negativity at the same time until it's balanced will work?" Suggested Reaper.
"That risks swinging the balance to far in one direction or the other," pointed out Dream.

*attempt eight*

Killer ran up and snatched one of Ink's vials.
"What are you doing?" Asked Ink.
"You and I are both kind of emotionless, I want to see if this stuff works for me," said Killer.
"Will it?" Asked Ink intrigued.
"Ink, don't encourage him!" Cried Dream.
"Don't you dare drink that Killer!" Yelled Nightmare. Killer drank the blue vial and everyone had to deal with a sobbing Killer. Then, he managed to sip the pink vial somehow and ended up kissing Ink. Then, Killer got the yellow paint and everyone had to chase a hyperactive and cheerful Killer.

"Alright, only Ink can use his paints from now on. Ink, write it on your scarf!" Classic firmly said.

*Attempt nine*

"Well, how did you two used to balance things?" Asked Blue.
"Well, we mostly didn't interfere with the balance until the apple incident." Said Dream.
"Please, you used to spread positivity in the village all the time," said Nightmare as he rolled his eye light.
"They were nice and I was just helping," snapped Dream.
"Dream, they were terrible. They manipulated you and bullied me," snarled Nightmare.
"They just didn't understand and were scared." Huffed Dream, still not wanting to taint those memories of the time with his brother.
"Dream, that doesn't mean they could do those things," growled Nightmare. Eventually, things got quiet as the two just stared at each other and they ended the meeting before a fight could begin.

*back to the present*

"Hmm... I wonder if I can get these people some sort of therapy... knowing them they would probably refuse though," Epic muttered. He quickly drafted up a new treaty based on what he knew and had learned.
