Knocking on Heaven's DoorAs the space between worlds and universes began to repel and separate, Theseus focused his energy on the void forming between them. Divine energy swirled around him, shrouding the open space in a brilliant, ethereal glow.
Iolaus and Ganymede stood at a distance, watching in stunned silence as Theseus attempted the impossible. The air grew heavy, vibrating with power, until Iolaus finally broke the quiet.
"Can this really be done?" he muttered, his tone filled with doubt. "I've never heard of a Divine Grace being used to create a gateway to Olympus."
Ganymede folded his arms, his expression thoughtful but cautious. "Theoretically? It's possible. But that's all it's ever been-a theory."
The ground beneath them trembled violently, cracks snaking across the earth. Theseus gritted his teeth, struggling as the divine energy around him spun wildly out of control. His hands trembled, and a flicker of doubt crossed his face.
"C'mon... work," he whispered through clenched teeth, forcing more power into the space.
Iolaus leaned forward, wide-eyed. "No way... Is he actually doing it?" he said, a grin creeping onto his face despite himself.
Ganymede let out a low whistle, barely able to hide his amazement. "Gods help us... He's really pulling it off. But at this rate-" He gestured around them as the earth shook violently. "The planet's not gonna hold together much longer if this keeps up."
"Theseus, cut it back!" Iolaus shouted, his grin faltering. "Before you tear us all apart!"
But Theseus didn't stop. His eyes burned with determination, and his voice came out low and fierce: "I will make this gate."
The Unveiling of Reality
In that moment, with every ounce of strength, the Athenian king tore through the fabric of reality-successfully opening the gates to Olympus.
The blinding brilliance of the portal shimmered before them, a gateway between realms forged by mortal hands. As the energy settled, Theseus collapsed to his knees, panting from exhaustion.
Iolaus and Ganymede stood frozen, trying to comprehend what they had just witnessed. Silence lingered until Iolaus finally muttered, a stunned grin spreading across his face, "What the fuck... Did that really just happen?"
Ganymede, unable to contain his amazement, let out a low whistle. "Holy shit. He actually did it. I never thought I'd live to see something this insane." He glanced at Theseus, respect gleaming in his eyes. "Not once in my life have I ever seen a miracle like that."
Theseus, still on one knee, looked up with a cocky grin. "Told you I'd do it." He struggled to his feet, swaying slightly.
Iolaus clapped him on the back, nearly knocking him over. "My gods, you really pulled it off."
Ganymede chuckled and gave a playful smirk. "I always believed in you, Theseus. Well... mostly."
Theseus shot him a mock glare. "Mostly?"
Iolaus grinned, elbowing Ganymede. "Yeah, mostly. Right after we were both convinced you'd blow up the planet."
Ganymede shrugged with a grin. "Still, hell of a way to go out if you had."
Theseus let out a tired laugh. "If I ever do this again... remind me to charge admission."
As they stood before the shimmering gateway to Olympus, the three heroes exchanged glances, their expressions shifting between determination and excitement. The golden light from the portal cast long shadows over them, hinting at the unknown waiting beyond.
Theseus broke the silence, a grin spreading across his face. "Ready to face the unknown?"
Iolaus scoffed, cracking his neck with a cocky smirk. "Please. As if you even have to ask." He adjusted his grip on his weapon and added with playful bravado, "Think they'll lay out some ambrosia for our grand return?"
Ganymede chuckled under his breath. "Ambrosia? More like a welcome party of lightning bolts. Pretty sure Zeus isn't gonna roll out a red carpet for us."
Theseus raised an eyebrow. "What, afraid of a little thunder?"
Ganymede shot back with a grin, "Not afraid-just hoping I don't get turned into a pile of ash."
Iolaus nudged him. "If they do, just make sure you look cool when it happens. First impressions matter."
Theseus laughed, the sound rich and unbothered. "We'll make one hell of an impression, alright." He took a step forward, his grin widening. "Let's go."
Without waiting, Theseus charged toward the gate, his heart pounding with excitement. Ganymede rolled his eyes but followed, muttering, "The things I get dragged into..."
Iolaus grinned, shaking his head in amusement. "If we don't die, I'm demanding a feast." With that, he sprinted after them, disappearing into the blinding light of Olympus.
The Silence of Olympus
As the shrouded clouds swallowed their vision, the three heroes plummeted through the heavens, free-falling into the unknown. Ganymede, arms crossed and falling to Theseus's right, shot him a sideways glance.
"Well, we're not dead yet. That's a start."
Theseus burst out laughing, his voice echoing through the clouds. "Guess even the gods couldn't kill us that easy."
Iolaus drifted lazily through the sky, hands behind his head as if they weren't hurtling toward certain doom. "I still can't believe we made it in. Think they've set out a grand feast for us?"
Theseus chuckled. "Ambrosia and nectar? Don't get your hopes up."
Ganymede smirked. "If not a feast, probably a lightning bolt with our names on it."
Theseus shot him a confident grin. "Well, let's just hope Iolaus's stomach isn't the thing that gets us struck down."
"Hey!" Iolaus retorted with a grin. "If I'm going to die on Olympus, I want it to be on a full stomach."
The banter carried them through the descent until, with a heavy thud, they landed on the sacred grounds of Olympus.
They stood slowly, brushing off the impact. But as the swirling mist cleared, the sight before them was nothing like they had imagined.
The grand halls of the gods were empty, the air thick with silence and ruin. Crumbled columns lay strewn across the ground, vines choking ancient statues. The heavens felt abandoned, as if the gods had long since departed.
Ganymede took a step forward, his voice low and cautious. "Well... this is not the homecoming I was expecting."
Theseus narrowed his eyes, his smile fading. "Something's wrong. Where is everyone?"
Iolaus exhaled slowly, his playful demeanor giving way to unease. "I was really hoping for that feast."
They stood in silence, the weight of the unknown pressing down on them like the ruins around them.
