"Yes, we found him," Belle said, glancing at Adam with a frown, "he sat in the guest room, and by the wetness of his pants, he must have been there the whole day. I think he went into headspace before he managed to get out."
"Why didn't he get someone to help him?" Adam asked, knowing that the servants were available enough without alerting the villagers. If only Gaston had gone up to one of them,
"I don't know. He doesn't seem to be very talkative. Right, sweetheart? Not many words," Belle said, turning to Gaston with a smile. The little looking in between her and Adam hesitantly, wanting to make sure that no one was angry and not really understanding what they were talking about.
"Bath," Gaston said, looking at Adam, and lifting his arms so the water dripped off, "icky."
"Ah, you were icky? Then it's very good to take a bath," Adam said, gesturing to the servants that they could go now. Once they were alone, he went to sit next to Belle, keeping up his beast form.
Belle looked over at him, only just noticing what he was holding in his hands still.
"So, why are you carrying around a pair of pants?" Belle asked, washing Gaston, who yawned, his thumb in his mouth while he leaned into Belle's hands.
"I found them in the forest. They were hanging on a branch," Adam said, "they are his, and it has been washed, I think. I suspect he had an accident while he was big.
"And he's hiding it from us," Belle said, drawing the conclusion, "well, it seems that we'll have to have a talk tomorrow."
"Yeah, it does," Adam said with a sigh, regretting the fact that the little was obviously still not trusting them 100%.
"I also found a wilted bouquet of flowers with his hair ribbon around it," Adam said, "I'll give it to you later."
"A bouquet?" Belle asked, looking confused by the random find.
"Yes. And his hair ribbon was around it," Adam said, "that's why I smelled it."
"Well, I guess we can figure it out later," Belle said, "the most important thing is making sure he's okay and clean."
Gaston looked at the two talking, not understanding most of the things they were saying. His head was hurting a little, and he was feeling tired while his legs itched.
Even washing didn't help the itch all that much, but they did feel less sticky.
Ada picked him up out of the tub, and Gaston didn't wait a second before he put his hands in the fur, loving the way it felt.
"Ada soft," Gaston informed the man, wanting to let him know that his fur was very soft indeed.
"Thank you," Ada said, and Gaston grinned, glad that he had understood the words.
"Mama soft," Gaston said, reaching out to touch her hair, making mama smile as well, which made him happy. He had caused that smile.
"Mama and dada soft," Belle said, making Adam purposely not look at her, knowing that Gaston never said dada to him. He had accepted that the little's title for him was just Ada, but sometimes he wouldn't mind to have a little more of an official title.
"Let's get you to the bedroom," Adam said, lifting Gaston and carrying him to the bedroom, seeing the doctor already waiting for them.
Gaston recognized the man and frowned in worry.
"Mama sick?" Gaston asked, worry on his face and looking at Belle. Ada seemed to be okay, carrying him with ease, but now that he looked at Belle, she was looking rather tired. Perhaps something had happened during the fair.
