The Brers had taken Burt to the Briar Patch and tied him to the thorns in ropes.
Brer Bear topped it off by hanging a quilt on a branch near Burt's face.
"Holy body odor! What died in here?" said Burt.
"Dat's ma fartin' quilt" said Brer Bear. "Instead o' stinkin' up de whole mount'n, I jes' does my thing inter dat."
"Have a good night, Brer Burt" said Brer Fox. "If ya needs ter breathe, do it through yaw mouf."
"Brer Rabbit, I can't believe you're not sticking up for me" said Burt.
"I did. Plan A was ter chop ya inter puzzle pieces and putcha in a box" said Brer Rabbit. "Yaw welcome!"
And they left Burt in the bushes.
At the theater...
"Hey, Frenchy. Seems to me your next song should be a duet" said Buff. "Wanna ask Jeremy to join ya?"
"I did not plan any duets for tonight" said Fleur.
"Nice goin', Buff" said Max.
"But I am glad you brought up Monsieur Clyde" said Fleur. "I have heard he has written a new song himself."
"He has" said Jill. "Would you like to play it, Jeremy?"
"Certainly. I've been wanting to sing it for days" said Jeremy.
"No!" Patty whispered. "He's supposed to play his new song for me!"
She came out of hiding and shouted "Stop!"
"Sis Patty, you ain't supposed ter be here" said Brer Vulture.
"Yeah, and now I know why!" Patty cried. "Jeremy, you and la belle Francaise can have each other!"
"Who is this?" said Fleur.
"That's Patty Duke" said Chad. "She and Jeremy have history."
Jeremy tried to calm Patty down. "Patty..."
She cut him off. "I don't wanna hear it, or your song!"
Jeremy tried to take her hand, but she swatted him away, accidentally throwing his guitar into the fire pit.
"Well, now you won't have to" said Jeremy.
"Well, the good news is we no longer need more wood for the fire" said Melvin.
