Back at the mountain, Burt was trying to untie himself, but he couldn't.
He was tied up real tight.
Brer Rabbit came in and said, "Brer Burt, I's here ter end diss."
"Holy cannibalism!" Burt panicked. "You're gonna finish me off!"
"No I ain't" said Brer Rabbit. "I's here ter cutcha free. I don't wantcha ter get in trouble."
Then he freed Burt from the ropes by biting into them with his sharp little teeth.
"Aw, thanks, Brer Rabbit" said Burt. "Now I better hurry before they get completely reckless."
"But first, ya may wanna change yaw vest. I think I cropped ya top" said Brer Rabbit.
Burt looked down and saw that Brer Rabbit had bit off half his vest while saving him.
He changed, then rushed outside where Brer Fox was wearing a king's crown.
Brer Bear was holding a beau and arrow.
"Alright, Brer Bear!" Brer Fox announced. "It's time ter show Princess Tiana how tuff we is! Charge!"
"Halt!" Burt shouted stopping the rebellion.
"Brer Burt escaped!" said Brer Fox.
"Yeah. And I'm taking control of the mountain" said Burt.
"How you gon' do dat? Dare's only one of ya" said Brer Bear.
"Two of us. I's jus' itchin' ter sock some villains!" said Brer Rabbit.
"Retreat!" Brer Fox shouted.
"No, Brer Rabbit" said Burt. "I already tried forcing them to do what I want. And all it got me was a bad case of stink nose."
"An' probably pink eye" said Brer Bear.
Burt touched his eye. "Oh, that's from crying."
Then he sighed and digressed. "Brers, I made tonight all about me when it should have been about you."
"So what you's sayin' is yaw alright wid us attackin' Tiana?" said Brer Fox. "Light your arrows, Brer Bear! Charge!"
Burt held up his gloved hands. "No! But I do want you to have fun. So let's quickly clean up and you can do whatever you want."
"Thanks for not punishin' us, Brer Burt" said Brer Bear.
"You're welcome, Brer Bear" said Burt.
The critters started to clean up and calm down.
"Brer Burt, I's sorry I didn't have yaw back b'faw" said Brer Rabbit. "I jus' dint want no one ter think I was lame."
"Well, if anyone can understand that, it's me" said Burt. "The pressure to being half the Dynamic Duo can be quite overwhelming. Adam sometimes steals my shots."
"Ain't dat a little selfish?" said Brer Rabbit.
"Never stopped him" said Burt.
"An' don't worry. I'll tell Brer Chad an' Brer Jeremy I broke de window" said Brer Rabbit.
"No, I'm in charge. I'll take the blame" said Burt.
Then Brer Rabbit got an idea that made his ears perk up.
"Maybe no one has ter get blamed" he said.
