RHAINE WALKED INTO THE LIMOUSINE, the heavy door closing behind her with a soft thud. She settled into the plush seats and took a deep breath, trying to shake off the discomfort from the party.
"Take me home, please," she instructed the driver, her voice steady.
The driver glanced at her through the rearview mirror. "What about Mr. Jin? Should I wait for him?"
She waved her hand dismissively. "You can come back for him. I'm done for the night."
The driver nodded, and the limousine began to pull away from the mansion, the bright lights of the party fading into the distance. Rhaine leaned back against the seat, ultimately regretting coming at all.

As the limousine came to a stop, Rhaine opened the door and stepped out, exhausted.
She was just happy she was home now.
But that happiness didn't last long.
She paused when she spotted Ni-ki standing in her front yard, his silhouette illuminated by the porch light. He looked uncharacteristically tense, his expression unreadable as he stared at her.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, surprised and a bit taken aback.
Ni-ki shifted slightly, his red eyes glinting in the light. "I wanted to see you," he replied, his voice low.
Rhaine crossed her arms defensively. "You could've just texted me, you know."
"I know," he said, taking a step closer, his gaze piercing into hers. "But I needed to talk to you in person."
Rhaine couldn't help but notice how he was fuming. She knew him long enough to know what he looked like when he was very unhappy.
She narrowed her eyes. "Are you... mad?"
"That's an understatement," he said, his eyes turning into his usual red.
She wanted to ask why he ghosted her a few days back and about the situation with his mother, but now wasn't the time. "Honestly, Ni-ki, I don't want to deal with whatever your angry about at this moment, I'm tired—"
Ni-ki's jaw tightened, and he stepped closer, lowering his voice. "You went to Rei's party. Do you have any idea how that looks?"
She wasn't in the mood to reflect on that party just yet.
"How I look? You're one to talk. It's not like I'm your property," Rhaine shot back, her frustration bubbling to the surface. "Why do you care so much? And how do you even know?"
He pulled out his phone, swiping through the screen until he found what he was looking for. "This," he said, showing her a picture that had just been posted on social media. It was a snapshot of her and Eunchae at the party, laughing together, with Rei and her friends gathered around them, their smiles bright and fake.
