Day Three

Just like yesterday Gahyeon was woken by her breakfast (if you could call it that) arriving. But unlike yesterday her stomach was in knots and there was absolutely no way she could eat right now.

She had spent the rest of yesterday trying to figure a way out and came up with absolutely nothing. Not one single idea for a possible breakout. It drove her crazy that she was in this predicament and unable to do anything about it. Sure, she had been in sticky situations before. But so far she had always found a way out, a way to make things right again. This time it seemed nearly impossible though.

So when the guard provocatively placed the food right in front of her nose, she pushed it away. She knew she should be starving by now, but she couldn't even look at it without the need to throw up. She didn't care about the confused look the guard gave her as he left. Yesterday-Gahyeon would have felt a small victory about tripping him up, but today-Gahyeon couldn't even bother. All she wanted was to fall back asleep, so she could be free of her own thoughts and wouldn't have to contemplate right and wrong anymore.

"You should eat." The girl on the opposite side of the cell broke her out of her dozing.

"Hmm." Gahyeon hummed halfheartedly in return. Please God of sleep, take me now to your sacred dreamland and never give me back until I'm out of this cell and just forget it ever happened and go back to my life. Pretty please.

"You'll get sick, if you don't eat." The vampire spoke up again, slightly knocking on the barrier. It flashed at every touch, but still wouldn't let her pass.

Gahyeon shot her a sharp look. She was praying in her head that today the vampire would just leave her be and wouldn't talk to her, when she spotted a blood bag laying on the floor. It seemed untouched, with all its contents still swishing inside. It definitely didn't help Gahyeon's nausea, though it's deep red was sort of daunting.

"You don't eat either, so stop lecturing me." She averted her gaze and stuffed her face back into her pillow.

"Oh, don't even try to play the sympathy card with me. We both know it's something different for me than for you. Plus, I'm used to starving myself." The vampire retorted, her voice surprisingly venomless.

"Whatever." Gahyeon rolled onto her side, hoping the vampire would get the gist and finally drop the conversation. At first she thought she had succeeded and would get her deserved peace and quiet. Alas the other girl spoke up again. Guess she had to surrender to talking for now.

"Hey. Can I ask my question now? I think you still owe me an answer." The other girl seemed hesitant. She was sitting in front of her bed, knees up and playing with her hands. Gahyeon would have described it as shy if she didn't knew better.

"Alright. I stand by my word." She replied. She sat up and faced the vampire, expecting the worst of the worst for the question ahead.

"How exactly did you get out of the palace?" Now that didn't seem so bad of a question. Gahyeon was still wary though. God knows the vampire's agenda and what information she actually wanted to get out of her that way. If the monster wanted her to take down her walls by going easy on her to get information, she could forget about it.

"What do you care?" There. Walls up, information secure in her mind.

"I asked what I asked. Per our deal you're obliged to answer." The vampire studied her and it suddenly made Gahyeon nervous. If her thoughts weren't such a mess right now, she would be a lot more confident in her ability to keep her lips sealed.

"Mayhaps I sneaked out." She replied. The less she said, the less information the vampire would get out of this. If she was playing the other girl for input she had to assume the other one was doing it as well.
