Leila slumped into her office chair, glancing wearily at the stack of files on her desk. Just as she was about to dive back in, her phone buzzed with a message from her coworker, "Team dinner tonight! Be there or be square!" Leila sighed but knew she couldn’t escape this one; it was a rare moment for bonding outside the deadlines.

Later that night, laughter and chatter filled the restaurant, the team steadily working through rounds of drinks. Leila, more of a casual drinker, tried to pace herself, but with every toast, she found herself raising her glass a little more willingly. The stress of work melted away with each sip.

By the time they stumbled outside, she was thoroughly intoxicated. Her friends offered to call her a ride, but Leila, waving them off with a tipsy grin, insisted she could make it home. Wandering down an unfamiliar street, she giggled to herself, “Just one night, universe. Cut me some slack.”

And then… she tripped. Not on a crack in the pavement but into thin air. The world spun around her, colors blurring together as if she’d fallen through a rip in reality. Her last thought before darkness claimed her was, "Oh no, I’ve really done it this time..."
