"Marcella, where are you?" Riley says in a sing-song voice. Riley was infact high out of her mind like she wanted to be.
"Riley?" it came out more accusatory than confused. Riley stumbled into the room holding onto the fridge for support. Her shoes were no where to be found and her skin was sleek with sweat.
"Is this your secret boyfriend?" she starts pointing at Yuri who Marcy forgot was there for a minute. She was going to get Riley back for this when she was sober again.
"Do you want some water" Marcy was now holding Riley in her arms and cooing her. There was no where to sit except the floor and the counter and she doubted she could hoist Riley up.
"Here you go" Yuri smiles down at Riley when he hands her a bottle of water.
"Riley?" Amari enters shouting her name
"looks like you get to meet almost all my friends" it wasn't under the best circumstances and she feared he would be chased away by them.
"Why is she on the floor?" Amari says with urgency in his voice.
"She is very high and very immobile" she tried her best not to sound too freaked out about it because she didn't want to handle Amari breaking down in the middle of the party.
"oh.." he sat down next to her and she happily plopped her shoulder on his. She turned to see Yuri who was observing the whole scene with same calculated look he gave her.
"Hi, so this is Yuri. Yuri meet Amari and Riley. Okay now we're done with that" she said breaking the silence "You want to leave here?" she took Yuri's arm in hers.
"Nice to meet you guys" Yuri says to Amari who said something similar but she could barely hear because she was already pulling him out the door. The hallway was full of people she went to school with who were wasted or making out. Rowan and May were sitting down on the couch making out as usual. She didn't want to interrupt them but May made eye contact with her.
"Marcy with the moves" May laughs teasingly at her.
"You're so annoying" she was out the door before May could say anything else.
"So where are we going?" Yuri finally says something. The night was cold and the stars were out. She was definitely not wearing the appropriate clothes to be standing outside without any plans.
"Wherever the wind takes us" he looked at her then laughed like she was insane but she really did feel insane. She felt like being spontaneous today.
"I know a place" the mischief in his eyes were enough for her to feel flutters in her stomach. It was Yuki's turn now to grab her arm and lead her away. He lead her to a sleek black car, similar to hers but his was definitely the newer model. The glasses were tinted and she was sure she didn't see any plate number at the back of the car.
"Your car matches the mysterious vibe you have going on" he just buckles in the driver side, grinning and Marcy wondered if going in his car was the smart choice. The rings on his fingers glimmer as he takes the wheel in his hands.
"I promise I'm not a serial killer" the car starts to pull out of the drive way.
"That is exactly what a serial killer would say" her phone started blowing up messages from her mom. It was odd that her mom never had time to pick her call when she actually needed her but always called at the wrong times. She switched her phone on silent mode because she didn't have time for that right now.
"You make a good point. what kind of music do you listen to?" he said with a side way glance towards her. They were going in opposite direction from the neighbourhood Riley, Amari and her all lived in.
"Anything RnB is fine" maybe that would set the mood. They drove for a few minutes in a comfortable silence. Yuri was surprisingly a careful good driver and he obeyed all the street signs too. The car started to pull up to the end of the road. The wall had some graffiti on it that spelt out 'Lover's grove'.
"What is this place?" Marcella felt trill go through her as she hopped out the car.
"I like coming here sometimes. I haven't brought anyone here before, it's like my personal creators spot" He wrapped one arm around her shoulder. He was so warm. She looked down and saw paint cans left haphazardly on the floor. Did he know she was an artist or was it some kind of happy coincidence?
"wow" she didn't know what to say to him. Yuri left her side to pick up an can of red paint and began to write her name on the wall. She couldn't help thinking about how everything was so perfect.
"Aren't you going to join me?" Yuri turned around to give her a full smile. She didn't know was prettier between the stars or Yuri's smile. The soft glow of the moon on his face made him look even more irresistible.
She picked up a can next to his feet that was yellow and began to paint Yuri. It wasn't a direct replica of Yuri but it would do.
"Is that a man? This isn't one of your art competitions" he rolled his eyes playfully.
"I never told you that I'm an artist" alarms started ringing in her head. The bottle of spray fell from her hands and she began to back up.
"Yes you did,I even saw you present your work" he looked her like she was saying nonsense.
"I saw you at the back, you didn't watch the art exhibitions" He kept walking towards. She could run some where safe if she could distract him. She could spray his eyes but she was too far from any cans and he would notice if she made any sudden movements. Her chances of out running him were slim too, Yuri looked like he was fit enough and she barely ever got any exercise. She didn't have any other options, she rather die fighting than lose any slim chance of survival she has. She started to turn Yuri pulled out a gun. He was pointing a gun at her head.
"I didn't want it to come to this" He held the gun steady as he came towards her. He was staring into her eyes now with something that looked like regret. Men in all black outfits walked out from the shadows with weapons in hand. She was cornered and the devil himself was pointing a gun at her head.
