"Yuri please wake up" Marcella had dragged him into her car and driven him to her house in complete shock. He had not even moved when she dragged him to her room. How she managed to drag someone almost half her size was beyond her. He had been passed out for thirty minutes and every minute that passed, Marcella panicked even more. He was breathing well but the sight of blood on him still unnerved her.
Marcella used a warm towel to carefully clean the blood off his face. She had forgotten how beautiful Yuri looked but she decided it was a good thing. Yuri had lied to her and betrayed her within the first few weeks she had known him. How could she possibly go back from that? But the way his features were so peaceful made her heart skip a beat. She didn't know how to feel being this close to him.
"Yuri please..." she cleans the mud off his clothes. His clothes were still too dirty to allow him lay down on her bed. She found a oversized shirt from her wardrobe that she usually wore to sleep. She feared she had to manage with the pants because she didn't have anything in his size.
She sucked in a breath when she pulled the shirt off his body, she was expecting cuts and bruises to explain the blood on his clothes. At least he wasn't the one that was injured and even if he was, why would she care?
She changed his shirt and placed him on her bed. Her fingers lightly touched his wrists for his pulse once more. She didn't want to go the hospital because a part of her knew that she couldn't. If he showed up to hospital with blood that wasn't his, they would ask questions and that was never good.
Marcella decided to believe Yuri was good and just needed to rest. She picked up her history book, the subject that she dreaded so much, and she began to read it. The dates were clashing and confusing her the more she read them. She felt her eyes start to close as she read.
"Marcy?" someone was nudging her arm.
"Yuri?" she immediately regretted the excitement in the sound of her voice.
"What happened?" his eyes were scanning her again.
"You came to my school and fainted on my car Yuri" she couldn't hide the panic that was in her voice. She hadn't never been this stressed in her life.
"I was on a mission, I'm sorry for bringing you into this mess" he touched her arm. The act was simple yet so intimate and personal. This was exactly what she was trying to avoid when it came to Yuri.
"Why didn't the organization come and save you?" images of Robert threatening her after she had been kidnapped flashed through her mind. Robert hadn't seemed nice or kind.
"They couldn't interfere and I couldn't get back it back to headquarters in time" he said with a sigh. His expression was thoughtful and far like he was in a different world.
"They don't sound like much help" she snorted at what he said.
Yuri didn't reply her, they sat in a shared silence together. It was weirdly calming and normal so much so that it scared her. She had to think of something to say to fill this weird comfort they had now.
"I saw something in my mother's office" Marcella stood up reaching under bed to pull out the papers she kept under bed. The weird jumbled English was still on the paper like she had seen it this morning.
"This isn't another language or code" Yuri declared after scanning it for a few minutes. He looked confused and lost as he stared at the paper.
"This was my reaction too but what if it is English but not just in the right order?" She asked rhetorically. She could already see the wheels spinning in his head.
"You might be right" he gasped in surprise as he examined the papers again. "What's the sequence?" he asked her.
"I haven't tried to crack that yet" Marcella answered him.
