Literature class was boring so she always sat next to the window. Nothing ever happened outside but perhaps that was what she loved most about it. The grass slowly grew through the seasons. It was as though they were waiting for life to pass through them. Marcy often felt like that, but in light of recent events she wished life could slow it down. If it weren't for her brother's nonstop lectures, she would have concluded the entire weekend was her mind playing tricks on her

"Marcy are you going for lunch?" Rowan was looking down at her. She didn't even realize class was over already but everyone else was walking out the class. He happened to be the only one of her friends in taking AP literature. Rowan was your typical blue eyes blonde hair basketball jock. It made sense he and May fit so perfectly together.

"Yeah sure but we have to stop by my locker" she needed to get her lunch because the school lunch was awful. Everything about it made her stomach twist in disgust. May was the only one that even took school lunches but she didn't seem that bothered about it.

The walk to her locker was pretty awkward. She had known Rowan for a year now but it never occurred to her how she didn't know anything about him. In her head, he was only May's boyfriend and the popular guy. He was as tall as Amari and had twice as much muscle as him.

"so I heard you had an art exhibition" he words were hesitant like he didn't know whether it was the right conversation to bring up. She had tried for weeks to bury that exact moment in her head but it just kept on coming back to her.

"Oh yes the one they invalidated my art skills and basically told me I wasn't good enough" he cringed back at her words. She was sure he regretted bringing it up.

"You're one of the most talented people I know" his hand fell on her shoulders and she almost shrugged it off. Something all her friends told her but of course it wasn't like her friends could tell her otherwise. If Amari was horrible at basketball, she would never actually say it to his face.

"If only you were part of the judges" she sighed opening her locker. The brown bag she always brought lunch in sat on her History textbook that she was pretty sure she hadn't opened this semester.

"Don't beat yourself up,things happen when they are supposed to" Rowan smiled at her and it made her think about how he was a really nice guy.

"i guess so" they didn't say anything else after that.

The cafeteria was so crowded and loud. One of the things that made her so excited for graduation was not having to come to lunch again. They usually all sat together for lunch but some times guys from the basketball team joined them. She was just happy it wasn't the cheerleaders. Riley was in the cheer squad and it surprised her none of the girls ever joined them during lunch even though Riley was friends with them. Jacob was in-between May and Riley telling them a story that she was sure May wasn't even listening to but was just politely nodding to. Riley starts laughing at his story oblivious to the fact that Amari was staring at her.

"Took you guys long enough" Jacob beams at them. Jacob was an adrenaline junkie and he was always one second away from doing something dumb but he was fun to be around.

"I had to get my lunch" Marcy raises up her brown bag full of rice. She sits next to Amari and Rowan takes his spot next to May. He kisses May on the cheek before pulling out his lunch.

"Little miss disappearing act" Amari glared at her clearly upset she hadn't bothered to call him. She had barely talked to anyone in the past two days, she needed time to process everything she had gone through.

"I told you guys my phone got lost" Marcy sighed because she had already been lectured enough by Theo.

"Jacob has been talking my ear off" May says jokingly trying to change the topic. Rowan took a sit next May and Marcy took hers next to Jacob.

"You don't deserve my comedic skills" He rolls his eyes at her and takes an dramatic bite of his sandwich.

"Asides your comedic endeavour, have you guys started applying for colleges?" May says glancing round the table. When no one said yes, May lectured everyone on how important picking their major and starting applications were. The lunch bell rang and she was sure everyone was relived to go except maybe Rowan, who idly played with May's hair.

School had ended for the day and she was exhausted. Midterms were about to start soon and between everything else going on, she needed all the naps she could get. Her car was parked where she always left it. She had already told a quick goodbye to everyone before leaving.

"Hello Marcy" Yuri was learning on her car with the same nonchalance he had at the party.

"Leave" the anger was still boiling up under her skin. It was too soon to see his face, she never wanted to see it again.

"I am sorry but I can't, we have to run over some plans together" he takes a cigarette from his pocket and lights it up. If you were a bystander, it would love like a casual conversation. Yuri blows rings into the air.

"Okay but make it fast. Seeing you induces nausea" Marcy takes a tighter hold of her shoulder tote bag. It was to prevent her from punching him.

"We can't do that here Marcy" he doesn't even spare her a glance.

"Then where?" she immediately regretted saying it. She didn't want to sound like she actually cared about anything of this.

"My place" he made eye contact then. He was preparing to tell her all the reasons why it was the right choice and she could see it in his eyes.

"I'm not that desperate" she snorted in reply. Yuri's eyes flew open like the trance he was in snapped.

"I do not mean it like that Marcy" he looked at her uncomfortably. Was she that ugly? Or maybe he was not even into women.

"I mean you already kidnapped me and threatened my friends so don't blame me if I don't think going to your house is a good idea"

"i have already done the worse, what else can I do to make it worse?" his logic was so horrible.

"Okay fine, but thirty minutes at most" she declared getting in the driver sit while he sat down next to her in the passenger's seat. Maybe this was a symptom of Stockholm syndrome.

Yuri put his address into her GPS and she drove out of the school parking lot and she was Rowan's car was still there along with Riley's, she assumed they were training. She one of her playlists and Yuri sang along to each song. The pulled up to a house that was basically a garden house. There were flowers lined on the base of the building and beautiful trees stood infront of the house. She didn't know what to expect when she went inside, but maybe she would meet the real Yuri.
