Eternal Frozen Love

Chater 15

If looks could kill, I'm sure I'd be dead by now. The way she looked at me, it was as if she was staring daggers at me. I felt a little uncomfortable and shifted away from Natheniel to the other end of the couch.

" Oh, right. Rica this is Lily.
Lily, this is Erica" Natheniel says introducing both of us to each other.

She looks at me and says, "What is her relationship with you?" She says to Natheniel with a frown.

" She's just-just a friend. Stop overthinking." He says.

A friend?? I never thought he considered me a friend. Or was it becos he didn't want his girlfriend to misunderstand?

Erica comes to sit beside Natheniel and wraps her arms around his neck,
" Hubby, I'm hungry. You promised to cook for me, remember?" She says in a childish voice and gives me a side eye.

" I will. Stop messing around." He says trying to take off her hands on him.

Then the maids come to us, " Sir, would you want us to prepare dinner now?" Kate says

" No, you guys can go" He says
Then they all leave the house.

"Ok u sit here obediently and wait,ok?" He says

" Mm" she says and kisses him on the cheek and he pats her head and goes to the kitchen.

I didn't understand but I felt uncomfortable seeing them all mushy together. What was wrong with me?

She follows him to the kitchen and I think Rica was asking Natheniel about me.
She comes back and sits on the couch.

" Hm Lily, right?" She says

" Uh-yes" I say looking at her and I look away.

" Hm, you have a nice name. And a pretty face that makes Natheniel look at you, right?" She says sarcastically

" No miss, you're completely misunderstanding my relationship with him. He just helped me a couple of times and I- I see him as a brother, nothing more or less." I say

" Did you think I didn't see how those slutty eyes of yours looked at Natheniel?
Do you think I don't know what the likes of poorly brought and slutty girls like you are like?" She says insulting me.

" Miss, you're misunderstanding me." I say lowly almost breaking down into tears.

" Tsk, Lily, you're quite stupid. I don't know you but I can tell you are from the village even though you're living in Natheniel's wealth. Did your village parents teach you this? People like you are dirty, ugly, stupid and so disgusting.
You disgust me. Don't even try to put up your little tricks to steal my Nathy from me. He's mine. He wouldn't even like a village girl like you , so don't even bother trying." She says as she walks away.

I sit there trying so hard to not break into tears.

I felt so insulted and hurt.

I wipe away a tear that falls from my eyes.

I see the two of them in the kitchen.
Erica hugged Natheniel from behind and he was talking to her, smiling.
Those two were the same. Always looking down on average people.  They were really meant for each other , really.
I sat there hoping I wouldn't cry. I always had a soft heart that I cried easily.
But I wouldn't cry.
No I couldn't.
I did. Hot tears streamed down my face and I just couldn't stop it.

Natheniel finished with the food and brought it to the table with Rica helping him. She would glance at me here and there and rolled her eyes at me.
Nicky came down from upstairs and sat down.
We all sat down and started eating.
I sat there in silence eating whiles Nath and Rica were talking and laughing.
Then Natheniel looked up at me and when we had eye contact, I immediately looked down at the door.
I didn't even realize I was just playing with the food and wasn't eating.
" Lily, why are you so suddenly quiet? This is so unusual of you. Are you ok?" He says and I ignore him looking down.
" Lily?" He says and I say nothing.
"Why aren't you saying anything?" He says still not saying anything.
" Maybe she's not in the mood to talk to you. Leave her alone.We can never understand the ways of townspeople"  Rica says sarcastically. I look up at Natheniel to see his reaction but he says nothing. He just looks at me, " Why are you now looking at me?" He says and it annoys me so much.
Nicky finishes and goes back to watching his cartoon. I didn't want to sit with these two anymore so I stand up and take my plate to the kitchen to wash them.
After some time, I see a shadow standing beside me and I knew it was him but I pretended to not know he was there.
" Did I say you should wash them?" He says but I say nothing and then I leave. I go and sit beside Nicky.

I see Natheniel and Rica go out together and Natheniel returns half an hour later. Nicky was sleeping on the couch.
He came back and sat down beside me, waiting for me to talk but I wasn't talking to him.
" Lily?" He says and I stood up to go to the kitchen.
He followed me to the kitchen and stood in front of me. My back hit the wall and he was standing in front of me looking at me intensely.
I tried to go but he places his hand on the wall beside me trapping me there.
" If you don't talk to me you're not leaving." I look at him and he smirks.
He stares deeply into my eyes and I hated this feeling again. It felt like I would melt with the way he stares at me. What I couldn't understand was why my heart suddenly stopped racing and I felt lost in his eyes.
We remained that posture for a while before he looked down from my eyes and looked away.He then moved away from me.
"Uhm, sorry." He says and walks away, leaving me behind and I just stand there, unable to move.
Then I pick up my yogurt and walk away. I see him working on his laptop on the couch beside where Nicky was sleeping and I try to pick him up to his room.
" Lemme do it" Natheniel says and he picks him up and sends him upstairs. I walk upstairs and see him coming. I try to avoid him but he.....
" Did I make you too uncomfortable back then? If I did then I'm sorry." He says apologetically.
I just stare at him and he looks away.
" Why weren't you talking to me when I asked you earlier?" He says and I was already tired of this.
I sigh, " Natheniel pls can you leave me alone?"
" hmm, fine" then he walks away.

I go to my room. I walk slowly to my bed and sit on. I lean on the bed frame and all the things Rica said to me earlier rush back into my mind.
A little tear falls from my eyes.
I was missing my mom and dad so much.
" Mom, Dad, please come back to us quickly. Please.I need you, we need you, please" I say in a low pained voice.
The tears rush down so quickly, I couldn't stop.
