Next morning....

Branch and Poppy were laying in bed sleeping together after that fun, emotional night and both woke up at the same time as Poppy had been on top of Branch with him holding her body they stared at each other.

He looked at her and stroked her face. "Stay here Poppy don't leave please." He begged.

"I want to stay Branch but I'm still hurt you kept this from me..." She sighed.

"I know and at the time it didn't matter because she was in the past and when she came back I wanted to tell you... But I didn't want to hurt you.. "I did tell you she tried to have sex with me during Hickory's party. That was hard but I told you because i didn't want to keep it from you." He said as his finger traced the side of her boobs.

"Why didn't you just tell me? I would have been worried but at least I knew the truth. I just wished I'd heard it from you instead of a drunk Mia." Poppy sighed.

"Look if I really wanted to I could have told her boyfriend that night that me and her were together and watch them break up and then swoop in and been with her." He said.

"Why didn't you?" She asked curiously.

"Because I didn't want to deal with that. I felt so bad when I found out she was taken.. I had thought about confessing to him but didn't want to hurt Mia. I think deep down I knew that she wasn't the one." He shrugged.

She looks at him as they kiss making out and holding each other.

"Please stay, no more secrets." He vowed.

"Yes, I'll stay. I wanted to leave but we need to have a real talk, a serious talk." She replied looking at him.

''Yeah, we can. Let's get dressed and go somewhere.'' He said.

They make out and held each other happy things were alright now.

The two went to a small cafe and sat in a corner booth and ordered some breakfast and coffee.

''Alright Poppy ask away.'' Branch replied.

She looks at him and felt bad questioning him, but she wanted to know what she was getting into.

''Did Rosiepuff know about you and Mia?'' Asked Poppy looking at him.

''No, see Mia took care of Rosiepuff while I was working and going to college so I was gone most of the day and came back in the evening and Mia would make supper for my grandma and me and she would stay sometimes or leave but most of the time she hung out with us. Me and her loved playing chess. Me and Mia didn't start the whole FWB until after she passed, we did have a one-night stand that last month she was alive at a dance party it was the last one grandma got to go to. So, I don't believe she knew.'' He said.

''Ok, so did the sex mean anything or was it just pleasure?'' She asked hating the question but wanted to know.

''No, for a long time it was just pleasure. I wasn't dating anyone during that time. As I said it was to take the pain away from my grandma's death and losing you. But after a year in I thought since we got along so well maybe it would be worth a try so for 6 months we dated and the night I wanted her to move in with me I found out she was engaged none the less so I left and never looked back.'' He said.

''Did you take the job because of losing her?'' 

''No, I applied for it a month after me and her were together and turns out the runner up backed out, so I was going to see Mia to tell her the job was mine and thats when I found out about her and Martin. So, I told them I would take and I left ending up in Troll York City.'' He replied drinking his coffee.

''Why didn't you tell him about you and Mia or have a Love Affair like you and me had?'' She asked playing with her fingers.

''Well... honestly, I was hurt by the fact that she lied all that time to me about being with someone and Martin seemed like a real nice guy and after all he's done serving overseas... I didn't have the heart to tell him about me and Mia, mostly because he would probably beat me up for it. As for having an affair she wasn't worth it... I think as I said it's because deep down, I knew she wasn't the one for me. But with you... I found myself doing anything I could to be with you because once I saw you in that shop.'' He said as he took her hand.

''One more question did you know the reason she came here when you saw her?'' Asked Poppy.

''It crossed my mind when I saw her but remember I didn't have anything to do with her being hired if I had done the interview and saw her name, I would have passed her up. And it would look bad if I fired her after she started when she did nothing.'' He replied.

Poppy nodded and looked down.

''I promise and swear to you nothing happened between me and Mia while she was here or when we were on that work trip. The only thing that happened was during Hickory's Batchlor party.'' He replied.

Poppy nodded. ''I believe you Branch. If anyone from your past comes up tell me right away, ok?'' She asked.

''Yes, I will I promise. I do have a secret but that you'll find out tomorrow.'' He said.

She looks at him. ''Will I like it?''

''I bet you will.'' He smiles and takes her hand kissing it.

Mia sighed as she woke up with a bad headache and went into the kitchen to see Trollex making breakfast.

''Hey beautiful.'' He greeted.

''Hey Trollex.'' She smiles.

''How was last night?''

''Bad I feel horrible. I drunkenly confessed what me and Branch were to Poppy and the others. I made her cry and leave. I didn't mean to hurt her and now I ruined whatever friendship me and Poppy had.'' She cried.

''Oh Mia. I'm sorry but it was bound to come out and I do know Branch was going to tell her after their honeymoon.'' He said.

''I'm not going to the wedding not after that fight I don't want Poppy sad.'' She cried.

''We already have reservations, and I can bring a plus one which is you and besides now you can go apologize to them.'' Trollex hugged her.

''I have nothing to say sorry about? It was in the past but maybe your right.'' She sighed.
