Reborn as A Snake! (3.) [ONGOING]

(7). - A Journey to Start Repairing Us [II].

         After leaving the busy streets of the market, we enetered the less busy, but still crammed streets in the Ordial guild district. It was known as the guild 'district' mainly because of the fact that this was the area where the three main guilds in Ordial and the world — The Merchant Guild, The Adventuring Guild and the Mercenary Guild — operated from, with their branches here in Ordial having their buildings here.

The sight was quite a bit different compared to the market, as the everyday citizens of Ordial were replaced by Adventurers, Mercenaries and Merchants either going to their guild buildings, leaving them for whatever reason or just standing around and speaking. This was about the only thing that hadn't changed all that much in the 9 years that  me and Hipsha haven't been in Ordial, as the sight of this all activity was also seeable back then.

<Dedela>;
"So many strong looking people..."

Dedela commented looking at the Mercenaries and the Adventurers.

<Leola>;
"Y-Yeah... They're kind of scary..."

Leola commented, slithering a bit closer to her sister with a worried expression, while I let out a bit of a heavy sigh and then chuckled, looking away from the two.

"Don't worry, you have no reason to fear any of them. Everyone here in Ordial is mostly friendly towards each other, so they won't do anything to you."

I stated, before moving a bit closer to them both and then leaning down a bit, placing my arms around their necks — pulling them a bit closer in so they could hear me.

"And between you two and me — most Adventurers and Mercenaries here in Ordial, are not all that high ranked. There are only a couple, and they are here mainly because they work as permant workers at the guilds."

I stated quietly, looking around at the Adventurers and Mercenaries that I had spoken of in question. With a quick use of my 'Great Appraisal' skill, I could see that the highest rank any of these adventurers or mercenaries on the street were was only C-Rank — which, while not the worst, definitely is not the highest rank.

C-Rank was around the middle of all the rankings and I was way higher than all of these individuals that were out on the street. Letting go of Dedela and Leola, I rubbed the tops of their heads lightly before laughing lightly and moving back onfront, continuing to lead all of them.

Dedela and Leola exchanged gazes, before looking around at the Adventurers and Mercenaries again, before exhaling and looking towards Naola with a smile.

Hipsha was moving beside me and unlike the two twin sisters, he seemed to be in his head rather than present here in the moment — which caused me to worry a little bit, the moment I noticed him. Moving a bit closer to his side, I poked his shoulder lightly to get his attention.

"Hey Hipsha - is everything alright?"

Hipsha shook his head lightly before looking at me slightly confused and chuckling lightly, rubbing the back of his head with his right hand.

<Hipsha>;
"Hahah... Sorry, I got lost in thought."

Hipsha replied, before looking away back to the road infront of us. I looked at him a bit sceptically, before moving back away from him.

I couldn't put my finger on it, but something about the way he reacted and said that... It felt — off. Almost like he was hiding something from me... But that was just a gut feeling — perhaps he wasn't hiding anything and simply was truly lost in non important thoughts and that's all.

Well, I won't get it out of him if I push, so I simply exhaled and kept moving forward, with the three of them following after me.

           Not too long afterwards, we managed to reach the Adventuring Guilds building — which looked even more majestic than when I saw it for the first time years ago, when me and Hipsha first came to Ordial. It was clear that in those 9 years since we left Ordial, this building had received renovations and had been rebuilt - which dare I say, was a smart move. The previous version of this building...
