CHAPTER 2
Candice
The apartment was huge. It was on the topmost floor of the hotel and it had a great view of the city from the window. I liked it. It was nice, had a nice flooring too. And it had a washer and a dryer. Was there anything more I needed?
"I can't believe you stole money," I said, looking into the laundry room. "Where did you get it from?"
"A couple people here and there. Mostly from the clubs you want to go to."
"And no one noticed?"
"Not a soul."
I glanced over my shoulder and at the kitchen island where he had placed the key along with a couple of wallets. Wallets that weren't his. Closing the door, I went there instead and looked into the wallets. Some of them had ID's, and some didn't. They were all branded wallets belonging to random men.
"Didn't you steal anything from a women yet? I could use a wallet considering that I don't have one." I flopped another wallet close before placing it back on the table.
"I could, but women don't really come to me."
"Well, you're not hideous."
"Not most of the time."
I raised my head and looked at him as he walked out from one of the room, his clothes changed into something else.
"Do I get clothes?"
"Yes," he said, glancing at the bag that was there in the living room. "I got you some earlier."
"Oh, how nice."
I tossed away the wallets and went to hunt into the bags, hoping whatever he got would fit me. There were some shirts in there, a couple of pants too and a lot of underwears. I was grateful either way.
"Can you help me out of this?"
He turned his head and gave me a quick once-over before nodding. "Sure, turn around."
I turned my back to him and pulled my hair to the side of my shoulder as his fingers reached the zip of the dress I was wearing. It had been two days since I had been wearing this same dress and now, I could finally change out of it.
I felt the dress loosen around my shoulders and I slid it down, letting it fall to my feet. Gideon stepped back and turned away, giving me privacy. I slipped on the shirt and then the pants before tossing the dress into the laundry room later.
I had a few more clothes, from the car, that needed washing.
But that was for later.
Right now, I wanted to lay down somewhere comfortable and sleep for the night. It had been a long day and the dancing didn't make it any better. My head was aching, my legs were sore, and there was no other way to make me feel better except for getting some rest.
There were two rooms in the apartment, both of them the same size and the same finish. However, one had a balcony, which I took for myself. It wasn't like Gideon needed fresh air anyway.
I closed the curtains, leaving them slightly open and walked straight to bed. When I slipped under the sheets, I noticed the lights dimming in the hall outside. A few seconds later, Gideon appeared on the doorway.
"You're not going to take that off?" he asked, pointing his finger at my face.
The glitter.
"Maybe in the morning." I murmured, closing my eyes. "It was fun."
