James stood at the edge of his mansion's rooftop, gazing out at the city's twinkling lights. The wind whipped through his hair, but his mind was elsewhere.

"James, you're haunted by your past," Victor's words echoed in his mind.

James' thoughts drifted to his childhood, to the traumatic events that had shaped him. His parents' brutal murder, the orphanage, the struggle to survive.

But he had risen above it all, building Merodach into a powerhouse. Yet, Emily's departure had shaken him to his core.

"Who am I, really?" James wondered.

A faint noise caught his attention. He turned to see Victor approaching, a folder in hand.

"What's this?" James asked.

"Emily's file," Victor replied, his expression serious. "I think it's time you knew the truth about her past."

James' eyes narrowed. "What truth?"

Victor hesitated before speaking. "Emily's brother was killed by a rival organization. She's been seeking revenge ever since and she assumes you were the one who killed her brother."

James' world tilted. Emily's drive for justice wasn't just a job - it was personal.

"And I deceived her," James whispered, the weight of his actions crushing him.

Victor's hand clamped on James' shoulder. "You can make it right, James. You can help her find justice."

James' resolve hardened. He would uncover the truth, protect Emily, and bring down those responsible.
