7: Lonely

Lydia POV)
The ninja were out on the deck training as I was sat in my bed reading a book, I was still upset about what had happened the day prior and was trying to get my mind off it.

I hear the ninja come inside and clamber down to where uncle is, they're very noisy for ninja.

I decide that I should probably get up so I drag myself up and put on my hoodie and some black joggers, they were Lloyd's.

I walk into the room where uncle and the ninja are to hear uncle telling a story of when he and my fath- he and Garmadon were younger.

He talked about him and Garmadon being friends, which surprised Jay but uncle told him not to interupt and continued speaking.

My uncle explained that Garmadon was not always evil, he said that one day he and Garmadon  were sword fighting when uncle lost his katana.

Uncle showed us the katana, I was surprised he had been able to keep it all these years.

Uncle continued the story saying Garmadon had told him to get the katana but he had said no so Garmadon went to get it himself.

Uncle said whilst retrieving the sword Garmadon had been bitten by the great devourer and it was that snakes venom that had turned my fa- Garmadon evil.

I found myself looking down at the floor bitterly. If that stupid snake hadn't bitten my... Father.. He wouldn't be evil, maybe he would still be in our lives. That stupid fucking snake cheated me 𝘢𝘯𝘥 Lloyd out of a father.

"It is the snake that took my brother away from me" uncle finished solemnly.

"And the snake that took my father away from me..." I mumble bitterly.

Uncle and the ninja turn around in surprise "L-Lydia, you weren't supposed to hear that" uncle says with a guilty tone.

"I'm glad I did.." I say sadly.

"It was all my fault, I'm so sorry" uncle says as he gives me a hug, I give him a slight hug back as the ninja look at us sadly.

"No, it's that stupid snakes fault" I reply angrily.

"Uncle, does.. Do you think father loves me and Lloyd?" I ask as I lean out from the hug.

"Of course he does Lydia, the one thing the venom could never make him hate was you two" uncle smiles at me sadly and I smile back.

Uncle turns to the ninja "you four have finished your training, you must now focus on stopping Pythor from collecting the four fang blades, but never lose focus on the obstacles that lie withing each of your hearts, that hold you back from true greatness. Unlock your true potential"

"But how are we supposed to do that sensei?" Zane asks.

"It is up to each of you to discover. Now I must go on a personal journey of my own"

"Where are you going?" Jay asks as I follow curiously as uncle begins to walk towards the door

"To a place you cannot follow"

"If you're going for Lloyd the city of Ouroboros is filled with hundreds of serpentine. You'll never do it alone" Cole tells uncle.

"I am going to find someone who can be of aid. The serpentine have united and grown stronger and we will need all the help we can get" uncle explains.

"Are you going to come back? Please come back" I beg and uncle smiles at me.

"Of course I'll come back, these four still have a lot to learn" uncle gestures to the ninja.
