MUZIKAYISE

Admitting that I'm starting to find Ntandokayise attractive is something I never thought I'll ever find myself doing. My bedroom smells like her. Her stuff is all over the place, and even when I let her sleep on the bed while i sleep on the couch, I can't seem to stop thinking about her.

It's how she attracts attention whenever she walks into the company every morning in her tiny skirts that only she can pull off. I find myself staring at her in secret because I know that being involved with Ntando is going to be the end of me. So I do what I know the best, which is becoming the jerk that I am.

It was very cute when she paused when she saw Sofia sitting on my lap when she walked through the VIP section. She made me angry when she sat on Mandlenkosi's lap because my brother wants her. I know that if an opportunity ever presents itself, he's going to sleep with her. I get mad because he's not supposed to even stare at her, but I get jealous when Ntando tries to make me jealous through my brother. I can't fuckin have her and so can't he. She's off limit.

"Where is Ntando?" Musa ask when I return back in the club without her.

"She left." I sit down and pick up my glass of whiskey.

"Why?" What is it with him?

"Because we had an argument. Why are you interrogating me?"

"I swear Ntando gets along with everybody but you and it's your fault for being so hard on her. You should take her home and apologise." Musa is too opinionated for his own good.

"Who asked you for relationship advices? Get out my business." I gulp down the drink.

"He's not lying. Go and apologise to Ntandokayise and then take her home. You paid lobola for her so why are you entertaining other girls?" MK scold me. I'll never hear the end of this.

"I'll take her home but she better not argue with me because I'm not in the mood for that." I stand up.

"Don't argue with her and she won't argue with you and bro...fụck each other and stop ignoring the sexual tension in the room." I pick up a drink from the table and throw it at Musa who laughs out loud. I swear I've never met an idiot like him.

I walk to the parking lot but there's no sign of Ntando. Maybe she left already.

"Ntando?" I call out her name just in case she's still here but as I walk further to where my car is parked I see blood coming out from one of the cars and I suddenly panic thinking it could be her.

I walk to the car's window and make sure not to touch it as I look inside. I'm very shocked to see Ntando inside not looking like she's hurt. I walk to the other door and open it then pulls her out.

"What the hell Ntando? You came here to kill someone?" Just as I was thinking of being nice to her. She shows me who she really is. A mụrderer. She's the same woman who killed a petrol attendant and walked away like she did nothing wrong. She come from a family of kıllers. I got fooled by her innocence forgetting that inside her heart lies a poisonous girl who won't hesitate to pull the trigger.

"Please leave me alone." She was crying. Her fake tears don't move me.

"I'm calling the police." I take out my phone.

"Go ahead and tell them I shot my boss who was trying to force himself on me! So what if I kıll people for a living? Does that mean I deserve to be sexually assaulted?" She yells. This is Lurther Mbhele? And he tried to force himself on Ntando? He's lucky he's dead.

"Listen..." She hit my chest repeatedly pushing me away from her.

"Let go of me Muzikayise! You're always thinking the worst out of me! I have a body on my hands and I need to get rid of him!" I pull her for a hug so that she can relax. She seems taken off by my actions but she eventually calms down and hugs me back. I've never hugged her before or even get to touch her like this. She feels so small in my arms.

"I'll help you get rid of the body." I can't let her go to jail.

"You don't have to." She pushes me off her.

"I insist. Take this." I hand her my car keys.

"You're going to drive after me while I drive Lurther's car to get rid of the evidence. We don't have enough time." She wipes her tears and nod. I walk to the tap of water that is here and opens it so that the water can reach the blood on the floor and removes them.

I pushes the body into the backseat and sit down at the driver's seat. I search for Ntando and see her already behind me. I start to drive out of the parking lot and I ask her to buy a petrol in a bottle at the filling petrol station before continuing with our drive.

I finally stop at a place where I know no car will pass by. Ntando gets out of the car and hands me the bottle of petrol. I pour it on the car and takes out a lighter from my pocket and light the car.

We stand there and watch it burn into flames. Burning along with everything that's happened today. Burning along with our secrets because we shall never speak of this day again in our lives. It will be like it never existed.

"Let's go." We both walk to my car and this time I drive home. Not to my apartment but home.

———

The first thing I did was take off my clothes which were bloody from sitting on top of blood. I'll have to burn them soon.

"Do you want to join me in the shower?" I can feel that my question caught of her guard because we've never even thought of sleeping on the same bed, let alone shower together. I feel like the events of today, brought us closer somehow.

"Me?"

"No, the girl sitting behind you." She chuckles.

"As much as the offer is enticing but I'll pass. At least for today."

"Your loss." I walk into the shower and have a quick shower just to remove the blood of me before getting put and wrapping a towel over my waist.

As I walk back to our bedroom, Ntando walks into the bathroom. I walk to the balcony to have a smoke and stare at the moon. Everytime I stare at the moon, I miss my little sister Melamina. I call her Luna because it's a name she gave herself because she loves the moon. She's a happy soul and it hurts me to think that she doesn't ever want to return to South Africa because of what happened on May, last year.

"Care to share?" I didn't know I was lost in thoughts until Ntando sat beside me in her white gown.

"You smoke?" I've never seen her smoking

"Occasionally." She takes the blunt from me and take a blow.

"I guess there's a lot I'm still yet to learn about you."

"There's a lot we are still going to learn about each other." We both stare into each other's eyes.
