"Where are they heading?"
We've been tracking Ristan for a week now. We traced him yesterday in Bicutan Taguig, and Abel's men, including mine, retraced his steps, but they were too late.
Each day and night became frustrating, and I was becoming more desperate to catch him. I worked with Ze've every day. We hacked the footage of every hotel nearby where Ristan was last seen.
We got lucky and found him with his assistant in Pasay. They were talking to someone we couldn't identify. After that, they left the hotel at night. Abel's men were again a bit late, but it was alright since we already knew where their next destination was.
"Abel's research team dealt with Ristan's men in Makati. Ristan fled the moment they entered their hideout. The good thing is a lot of firearms were found. They're going to go short of them and struggle." Bruno explained while looking at the monitor.
I’ve been on edge all week. Sleep eludes me at night because I can’t shake the worry of Ristan Escalante ambushing us and putting Farida in danger. I spend my days diligently tracking Ristan’s movements and standing guard over Farida all night.
"His assistant went to Cavite last night to meet with Fredrick, one of their key associates. Thankfully, Abel’s men were on the scene and successfully apprehended him."
"So an attack might happen anytime soon," I muttered.
Capturing his assistant can trigger him. Knowing that his assistant is the one who's moving to make deals with different people underground. They're now short of firearms, and their wild card is now caught by Abel's men.
Even so, we're still at a disadvantage. We have no idea how many men he has with him. Knowing how cunning of a man he is, I'm sure it's a lot. He's going for the kill; he won't go here without something in his sleeves.
"It's safe to assume it'll happen within this week, or even today," Cliff, one of my men, concluded. "I don't think Ristan Escalante will sit still. For sure he'll move before we capture his remaining men."
I nodded and took my phone. I tapped Adrian's contact name and stared at the red, unmoving dot on the monitor. We lost track of Ristan the moment we captured his assistant.
"Yes, Mr. Griego..."
"Scatter around Valhalla's building. Send Clark's units here inside and tell him to head to the second floor; I need backup."
"Noted, Sir. I'll inform them now."
"Expect for possible ambush anytime; don't drop your guard down," I reminded him.
"Roger, Sir."
I cut the phone call, moved closer to the monitor, and started infiltrating footage. I went to a different road that Ristan could use. I watched the scene closely. It's footage of a road near NLEX.
