Ashanti's POV

I got to school and it felt like I was just dragging myself. I felt burdened by everything. I felt like my homework was too much, traveling, eating, walking. I didn't have the energy. I was operating on low gear all day.

"Don't worry about Mikhail" Shantel said. But I can't shake the feeling I don't know what's happening.

She came stayed around me for most of the day skipping her classes to attend mine but the teachers seemed to be okay with her doing that and I can't understand how. They all seemed to know her for some reason.

School came around to a close and although I had low energy I was happy I survived the day and I'd be going home now. I told Shantel I'd text her and she went back to the science block, guess she left sumth.

I was minding my business walking to the gate when all of a sudden I heard this annoying voice. And the person was talking to me. "Yuh think yuh can tek my man?" I looked around caz my energy too low fi fight and still too low fi run. Surely the girl was looking at me. I don't even talk to boys... how ???

I stared at her for a while until I decided I'm continuing on my way caz she naave nth fi do wid mi. As I turned around I heard her say "but dah gyal yah nuh bldclt easy" but I continued walking. I saw everyone kinda moving over but I had zero energy I just kept walking. I heard sumth coming at an intense speed and out of reflex I held my hand up as a sharp knee shaking pain instantly coursed through my body. This is when I realized she had gotten a piece of iron and was about to hit me across my head, my hand was able to stop that from happening however it is definitely damaged as I am currently on the ground screaming uncontrollably and unable to stop.

The students who crowded around and watched everything happen were still standing around me just videoing and looking. I didn't know where the girl was but I could focus on nothing. Slowly everything was going black and all I thought of in that moment is if I'm gonna open my eyes again.

Shantel's POV

I went to get Tiff since I know she had a class at the last session. She was dismissing the class and when they say your clothes define your character they were right. Her behavior was sophisticated and classy. She felt my eyes and looked over in my direction smiling at me while taking up her markers and putting them in her pencil case and then into her bag and taking up the lunch kit and walking over to me.

"Heyyy" she said finally being happy. I smiled and returned her greeting as we started making our way to the car. That's when I saw a bunch of kids gathered around and heard an ear piercing scream. For some reason I had the urge to go find out what's happening though I usually don't care I saw no one trying to help whoever it is. Tiff was with me too.

As I parted the crowd the screaming had stopped and they started to disperse. My heart bent into itself when I saw Ashanti laying on the ground obviously passed out from whatever pain she was in. I rushed to her and realized her hand was broken just looking at it I could tell. Tiff was about to run to the staff room but I stopped her.

"She's my friend" she understood what I was saying and helped me lift her up and got her to my car. She shoved her stuff in passenger seat and went to the backseat to support her as I drove. I went at an alarming speed with my 4 way on. By the time I got to the hospital and got help they rushed her to emergency, I had to find somewhere to park so I gave Tiff her phone and she went in with her. After securing parking I rushed inside trying to find them, when I did she was awake. I fled to her side, "Are you okay?" I asked looking at her pale skin.

"Almost"

She then explained what happened. I mentally noted to find out which girl did it and I'm gonna have to get to Mikhail. She looked so broken. The hospital already called her parents and they're on their way so I'm staying until they come. Tiffany was waiting patiently as well checking in and she bought snacks and drinks for us as we waited. I mentally noted I'd have to give her some money later. Ashanti is due for a X-ray to determine the damage but based on the pain and the looks of it I know it won't be anything minor. It hurt me to see her like this especially knowing she doesn't even have any reason to be attacked. We were there for another 45 minutes before her parents rushed in her father leading the way and breaking the minute he assessed the damage.
