Chapter 8

Vladimir says, "there is a pool party on Saturday, you should come". Veronica says, "I don't-". Misty says, "she would love to come". Vladimir smiles saying, "cool, I will you pick you up". Veronica says, "sure". Misty smiles saying, "glad that's all settled". Misty bows saying, "Good night, Alpha". Vladimir says, "Good night Misty and Ronnie". Veronica says, "Good night, Vlad". Veronica leaves with her mom as Vlad wonders, 'she was about to tell me something, she is definitely hiding something for sure'. Later at home Misty and Tony were in the living room as Tony says, "it seems as if the Alpha has taken a little interest in you". Veronica nervously says, "Alpha, I-I-I I wouldn't know if he is one or anything, I swear". Misty says, "if you think about telling him anything you are wrong... we are a happy family don't you ever forget that! now go to your room". Veronica nods saying, "yes mom". She heads upstairs locking her door and comes into her bathroom thinking, 'I wish I was dead and disappeared', Maia comes out saying, 'HEY, NO! we don't ever think like that'. 

Veronica's eyes change as she asks, "what else am I supposed to do? atleast if I left or died I would be with my real daddy and far away from mom and Tony'. Maia says, 'ok but what about Vladmir? he said that you were not alone and that you had him'. Veronica says, "I don't know ok, he's an Alpha but there's something different about him". Before Maia could say anything else Veronica shut off her wolf before looking in the mirror thinking, 'death was like giving up, giving up in being brave, giving up on my dreams and most importantly giving up on Vladmir... I don't know why but being around him is something which I like and not being able to see him again hurts'. Veronica wipes her tears saying, "I am not going to let fear and temptations win, I am stronger than I think, and I will fight anything that comes my way". The week goes by fast at college and also in general as Veronica kept herself busy. Saturday soon arrived as Veronica thought, 'I don't think I want to go to the pool party, and I think I did great in managing Vladmir as best as I could... I can't believe I was so close to spilling everything out perhaps he has forgotten about me and won't come pick me up'. Veronica tidies her room and keeps quiet as she knows that if she is loud then she will be hit. Later that evening, Misty opens the door as Vladmir comes in saying, "hello Misty". Misty yells, "VERONICA! there's someone at the door for you!". Veronica comes downstairs asking, "who is it, mom?". Veronica sees Vladmir in his short and a vest asking, "why aren't you ready yet?". Veronica replies, "oh, I don't really think I will be going, I have homework and studying to do". Misty says, "silly, take a break darling those books of yours won't go anywhere a night out won't affect your grades". Veronica says, "sure as you wish, mom". She says, "just give me a few minutes, Vlad". 

Vladimir says, "no worries take your time I will wait for you in my car". Veronica nods and heads upstairs going into her wardrobe and bringing out her short and swimsuit before looking in the mirror thinking, 'I cannot believe I am going to a pool party, and I won't be able to get in the pool because of this stupid makeup'. Veronica touches herself up with concealer before coming downstairs as Misty grabs her squeezing it saying, "don't you dare mention anything to him". Veronica says, "I know mom please let me go". Misty lets go of her saying, "we don't want to keep the Alpha waiting". Veronica rubs her arm before leaving as Vladmir brings her to the party where the music is loud, and everyone is drinking. Vladmir asks, "you ok, Ronnie?". Veronica replies, "sure, just kind of nervous". Vladmir says, "why? it's just a party". Veronica nods saying, "I know but I am not really much of a party kind of girl". Vladmir says, "eh, neither am I but I like to let loose once in a while". Veronica says, "yeah". Vladmir says, "just stay close to me, ok?". Veronica smiles nodding as Elliot comes over saying, "dude, you made it!". Vladmir says, "I told you I would". Elliot asks, "and who is this?". Vladmir replies, "Elliot, this is Veronica". Vladmir says, "Veronica, this is my best friend and beta Elliot". Veronica bows and greets Elliot as he says, "hell to the no girl! we are friends now". Veronica asks, "is he always like this, Vlad?". Vlad asks, "like that, Ronnie? loud and crazy". Veronica says, "both". Vladmir says, "he's one of a kind". A girl with silver hair comes over saying, "hey red eye, you made it". Veronica says confused, "red eye?". Vladmir says, "always the joker, Veronica meet Esme". Elliot grabs her waist saying, "she's my mate". Esme kisses Elliot before looking at Veronica who says, "hey, it's lovely to meet you". Esme smells veronica saying, "you have a weird scent". Vladmir's eyes flicked to red in front of Esme as he mindlink, 'do not expose yourself as a Vampire to her'.
