Dusk

Chapter 7

Bianca says, "everybody has secrets, Vladmir and some are better off not knowing, some truths hurt more than the lies." Vladmir says, "mom you sound so philosophical, but why?" Bianca says, "living a lie is easier than facing up to the harsh truth just don't question it... I feel like when she is ready to open it, she will." Vladmir nods thinking, 'this is going to be one hell of a dinner.' Elsewhere Misty was in the living room applying makeup before calling, "hurry up Veronica, we haven't got all day." Veronica came down asking, "is this dress ok?." Misty replies, "I guess it will do now let's go; your father is waiting for us in the car." Veronica rolls her eyes thinking, 'he is not my father!.' Misty turns back saying, "remember to bow your head, oh and don't talk unless it's you being spoken to." Veronica nods saying, "of course mom." Misty says, "and for the love of the Moon Goddess put a smile, pretend you are happy or something instead of looking like a smacked baby's bottom!." Veronica nods as she smiles before Tony soon drives off to Vladmir's place. Veronica thinks, 'wow his house is massive.' They soon come in as Bianca says, "Veronica!." Veronica bows says, "it's a pleasure to meet you." 

Bianca says, "oh, there is no need for that, dear I have heard so much about you; come in it's an honour you decided to join us for dinner." Misty held Tony's arm admiring the house as Tony says, "the pleasure is all ours, I must say I was surprised by your son's invitation." Bianca says, "my name's Bianca and oh well, he is like that sometimes." Vladmir comes into the living room as he says, "Ronnie." Veronica bows saying, "Vlad." Vladmir says, "what did I say about the bowing? There is no need for that." Veronica giggles as Vladmir thinks, 'damn, her giggle is cute.' Bianca says, "follow me to the dining room." Bianca serves the steak, potatoes and wine as Misty and Tony dig in with delight as Bianca says, "so, Veronica tell me something about yourself." Veronica looks up at Bianca saying, "m-me? well there is not much to say." Bianca asks, "what are you studying in college?." Veronica answers, "oh, I'm studying medicine to become a doctor." Bianca says, "smart and impressive, you are the entire package." Veronica says, "thank you for your praise." Misty asks, " Alpha Vladmir, what are you studying?." Vladmir replies, "please call me Vlad and no need for formalities, I'm studying business need to manage the family's company." Misty says, "now that is exciting." Vladmir thought, 'dinner is going well, making small talks here and there but why is Ronnie not eating?.' Veronica was playing with her food with her fork as Vladmir bumped his knee into hers. Veronica lifts her gaze from her plate staring into his eyes as she smiles before slowing loosening up and eating her food. Soon after dinner Misty hugs Bianca saying, "it's a been a pleasure tonight, your food was delicious." Veronica asks, "can I help you with anything? Tidying up perhaps?."  Bianca laughs saying, "oh, don't worry about that sweetheart why don't you and Vlad go upstairs and chat? Me and your mother can talk while we clean." Misty says, "I should really go find Tony." Bianca says, "come on Misty, I am sure there's a lot to catch up on." Veronica nods and turns to find Vladmir waiting for her as he says, "come on." Veronica follows Vladmir upstairs as he brings her to the terrace as they both look at each other. 

Vladmir says, "so?." Veronica says, "so...?." Vladmir says, "come on, tell me about yourself." Veronica says, "thought I already did." Vladmir says, "I mean the real you, what about your real dad?." Vladmir already knew but wondered if his compel really worked as Veronica replies, "um... he abandoned me when I was young." Vladmir apologises as he says, "I didn't mean to be pushy." Veronica says, "no it's all good." Vladmir asks, "do you have any siblings?." Veronica shaked her head answering, "no, I am all alone." Vladmir says, "hey, who said anything being alone? You have me!." Veronica says, "oh, really?." Vladmir says, "yes, really." Veronica smiles saying, "well it's nice to know that I am not alone anymore." Vladmir says, "but you were not going to be alone forever, what about your mate?." Veronica replies, "no, I will reject him when I find him." Vladmir says surprised, "why?." Veronica sighs answering, "I just don't believe in love and let alone believe that someone was made for you, I have no idea you must think I am mad?." Vladmir says, "no, not at all I'm just taken aback, that's all but why do you think this way?." Veronica rubs her arm saying, "I-I can't tell you because I will get in trouble." Vladmir was curious asking, "tell me what?." Before Veronica could reply Misty came saying, "sorry to interrupt your little conversation but it's getting late, and Veronica needs to be up early in the morning; you know studying to be a doctor is not easy." Vladmir says, "I can imagine, before you go Ronnie there's something I have to tell you." Veronica asks, "what is it, Vlad?."
