Chapter 13

Esme sees by Veronica's reaction that she was unaware as Esme says, "wait... you didn't know?." Veronica takes a deep breath saying, "no... I guess I did not know." The waiter brings over the hot pot as Esme begins boiling the meat and fish as Veronica thinks for a moment remembering back to the cave, the bat and also her recent conversation with Vlad. She says, "Oh my god! I told him." Esme says confused, "told him what?." Veronica replies, "well my family has its problems and with those problems I guess I thought that without a mate those problems would disappear, I told Vlad I will reject my mate when I meet him, I'm so silly." Esme says, "honey, you still haven't rejected him, give the guy a chance and having a mate is not that bad." Veronica asks, "what is it like?." Esme replies, "you have someone to always come back to, Elliot is my best friend, boyfriend and rock I could say more but the hot pot will get cold." Veronica tries a piece of meat saying,"yum, this is scrumptious." Esme says, "if you think the steak is cool you should try the fish egg."

Veronica asks, "what's your relationship like with Elliot?." Esme gave her a pondered look answering, "we fight with each other but at the end of the day we love each other no matter what, honestly I can't imagine a world where he is not beside me." Veronica asks,"but how do you love?." Esme replies, "it just happens, girl you know you truly love him when you can't wait to see them, when your breath stops every time you see them walk into the room, when you wake up they are the first thing you want to see and when you sleep you have them by your side, it comes naturally without you even noticing". Veronica thinks about everything as Esme enjoys the food before she asks, "how can a girl love someone else when she has never felt what love is?." Esme replies, "just go with the flow,it will happen... Vladmir is an easy guy to love, a softy teddy bear." Veronica smiles saying, "thanks for the advice." Esme says, "I felt like a love doctor just now! but what are friends for?." Veronica smiles and begins to eat thinking, 'she is just a caring and calm girl it's hard to think that she is also a Vampire, and I get to call her my friend.' Esme soon brought Veronica home as she went upstairs to her new bedroom sorting out her bags when she noticed Vladmir's card thinking, 'I should hand this back to him, wouldn't want him thinking I stole it from him.' Veronica comes into Vladmir's room which is quiet as she says, "Vlad? Vlad are you in here?." Vladmir comes out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist as Veronica turns around shaking her head. Vladmir says stunned, "Ronnie? Shit, I didn't know you were in here." Veronica says, "it was my fault, I should have knocked before entering." Vladmir says, "don't worry about it, you can turn around now." Veronica turns to see Vladmir dressed as he says, "so what can I help you with?." Veronica hands his card saying, "I came to give your card back to you."

He takes it saying, "ah thanks, is something bothering you? what's the matter?." Veronica asks, "is it true?." Vladmir asks, "is what true?." Veronica says, "that you are my mate." Vladmir thinks, 'shit, how did she find out?.' Veronica notices Vladmir smiling as she asks, "why did you keep it secret? Why didn't you tell me?." Vladmir replies, "I was scared I guess." Veronica says, "scared?You're a Vampire and I'm a Wolf if anything I should be scared of you." Vladmir asks, "but you are not afraid of me?." Veronica shakes her head as Vladmir says, "you told me once you found your mate that you would reject him and I just couldn't bear the thought of losing you that is the reason I kept quiet, I'm afraid of you not being close to me and that you will push me away." Veronica giggles saying, "I could never do that to you, Vlad." Vladmir was stunned saying, "What?." Veronica says, "I spoke to Esme, and she gave me good points, I have grown fond of you, and you have saved me more than once I guess I owe you more than just a chance." Vladmir smiles saying, "thanks Ronnie, you won't regret it." Veronica says, "just keep in mind that I want to take things slowly, I have never loved anyone before nor felt what it is like to be loved by someone so take it easy with me please, Vlad." Vladmir says, "sure, I can take things slow as long as I am close to you I am fine." He winks playfully as she says, "well I better get going I need a bath after this long afternoon." Vladmir laughs saying, "ok but don't forget we have dinner later." Veronica says, "yes Alpha and besides I wouldn't miss it for anything in the world." Soon in her room Veronica finished having her bath as Maia says, 'you know what is coming! You are going to be a Luna.'  Veronica looked worried as she says, "OH MY GOD! I'M GOING TO BE A LUNA!."
