Chapter 9

Esme mindlink Vladmir, 'sorry Alpha'. Vladmir's eyes change back as Esme says, "sorry I was just being weird, you were not joking when you said she's adorable, Vladmir". Vladmir says, "I know, right?". Veronica says, "um, thanks". Esme asks, "is she always this timid?". Vladimir replies, "she will let loose just give her some time". Esme smiles saying, "I have a feeling we are going to be great friends". Vladmir says, "I am going to go for a drink with Elliot, just stay with Esme, ok?". Veronica nods saying, "ok, Vlad". Vladmir leaves with Elliot to drink as Esme asks, "why don't we go and dance?". Veronica replies, "I am not much of a dancer, Esme". Esme says, "everyone is a dancer just feel the music and let loose". Veronica wonders, 'why does everyone keep on telling me to let loose? am I that uptight?'. A few moments later Veronica was outside dancing with Esme as she thought, 'I never thought about liking to dance but watching Esme and hearing the beat of music I couldn't not move'. Everyone around them were dancing but also cheering and waving their hands in the air. Esme says, "I told you, girl". Veronica says, "you were right, this is fun! we danced to so many songs". Esme says, "sometimes you shake what your mama gave you". Veronica was confused as Esme began to twerk. 

Suddenly someone yells, "LET'S GO SWIMMING". a crowd of people including Esme jump into the pool as veronica thinks, 'shit, I can't get wet not when I am having a good time'. Veronica soon feels a pair of hands slide around her waist as the guy behind her lifts her from the ground saying, "you should get wet, sexy!". Veronica says, "NO, wait! PLEASE LET ME GO!". The guy says, "take it easy sweetheart, you just need to let go and swim! it's only water". Veronica says, "No, please! let go". And with that Veronica is thrown into the pool as she soon resurfaces to see from the border Vladmir is beating the guy who threw her in the pool. Elliot says, "go save your girl, dude I got this". Vladmir nods and extends his hand to Veronica helping her out the pool as she coughs for air. Vladmir holds her asking, "are you ok, Ronnie?". Veronica looks up at Vladmir thinking, 'he saved me?'. She recognises a look in his eyes from the bat who saved her in the cave a few nights ago. Veronica instantly pushes Vladmir's hand away from her and runs to the nearest bathroom locking the door. Vladmir comes after her knocking on the door saying, "hey, Ronnie! Ronnie, open up!". Veronica uses the towel to dry herself before looking in the mirror saying, "go away, leave me alone!". Vladmir asks, "what is the matter?". Veronica sees her makeup has been removed exposing the bruises on her thigh and face. As she sees a purple fresh bruise on her arm from earlier when Misty had grabbed it. Vladmir says, "Ronnie, talk to me". Veronica sighs saying, "please Vlad just go". Vladmir says, "no way, I am not leaving not until you open this door and talk to me". Veronica turns back as her eyes change into her wolf thinking, 'can he really see me like this?'. Maia says, 'he told you he would be there for you'. Veronica says, "he will find out sooner or later". 

Veronica unlocks the door as Vladmir uses his super speed to come in relocking the door as Veronica is taken aback asking, "how did you do that?". Vladmir replies, "doesn't matter, what is wrong with you? why did you run off like that?". Veronica turns away as Vladmir wraps his arms around her saying, "hey, look at me please". Veronica turns without looking at Vladmir who sees the bruises on her body and face asking, "who did that to you?". Veronica replies, "it's nothing". Vladmir's fist clenches as he says, "why were you hiding it? who did this to you?". Veronica says, "I don't-" Vladmir feels his anger rising as his eyes change saying, "DAMN IT, VERONICA! WHO THE HELL DID THAT TO YOU?!". Veronica is shocked by his red eyes as she says, "you're a... you're a...". Vladmir thinks, 'oh crap I revealed myself'. Veronica unlocks the door as she runs off. Vladmir thinks, 'good going, I scared her away'. Veronica is still running trying to process everything around her when Vladmir soon comes in front of her saying, "wait, don't run". Veronica says, "You're a Vampire... an Alpha one.. Esme calling you red eyes...". Vladmir says, "yes it is true but I would never hurt you". Veronica takes a deep breath as Vladmir caresses her cheek saying, "you never did answer my question, who did this to you?". Veronica replies, "it's my parents". Vladmir's eyes widen asking, "YOUR PARENTS BEAT YOU?!". Veronica doesn't know what to say as Vladmir says, "and you choose to cover it up?". Veronica says, "if I don't things will be much worse". Vladmir says, "that's it you are not staying in that house another day". Veronica says stunned, "what?".
