Chapter – 39 ANNA "This whole story is really crazy."
I wake up to the shrill sound of the alarm clock cutting through the silence of the room. I open my eyes, still a bit sleepy, but the anxiety quickly takes over as I remember the long-awaited commitment. When I opened my cell phone, I read a super cute message from my beloved boyfriend saying: "Good morning, babe! May your day be perfect. I'm sure you're going to rock today. I can already picture you on the covers of Vogue. Just don't forget that I can't live without you anymore. I love you, my top angel!"
How can I not love Nick? Blessed be that day when I went crazy and hugged him without even knowing him.
My heart is racing, and my thoughts are flying. I can hardly contain the excitement taking over my body. Every minute, I feel I'm getting closer and closer to my true destiny. It's a strange sensation, but something tells me I've found my path.
As we get off at Miami airport, my mother and I are greeted by a guy named Josh. He introduces himself as an agency employee. The car was the same one that had transported us the first time. The streets are incredibly congested. Police cars, ambulances, and the fire department are trying to navigate through the traffic at all costs. Josh mentions an accident in which several vehicles are involved in a chain collision.
The traffic is at a standstill. The cars hardly move. I hear Josh talking on the phone to someone from the agency, saying that we might be running late because traffic is blocked on all sides.
I try to calm myself down, but my feet keep shaking. My mother notices my distress and starts speculating about Josh's life to generate a topic and distract us a little.
With so many questions, we learned that he was born in Canada and lives in an apartment with a friend. He has been working at the agency for a year and a half. His main job is as a driver, but he ends up doing a bit of everything.
The travel time, which would usually take twenty-five minutes, it lasted an hour.
Norris welcomes us warmly and guides me to a dressing room, where a makeup artist, a stylist, and a few other assistants are waiting for me.
As soon as they've finished my first look, I look at myself in the mirror, and I am amazed by what I see. It's impressive how these professional makeup artists know how to enhance our best features without overdoing it. Of course, I took a few selfies and sent them to Nick. I want him to follow me step by step.
As soon as I arrive at the studio, I'm introduced to a photographer named Mario. He's an exotic, friendly, and fun guy. Right away, he jokes: "Angel, I'm sure we're going to rock today." Mario starts framing me with his camera, moving from side to side. I believe he's looking for my best angles. While adjusting the lenses, he keeps saying: "You'll notice that we'll be talking a lot during the photos. I want to get to know you better. I want to see you at ease as if you were among your best friends."
At first, Mario starts talking about himself and tells funny stories about what has happened in his life. He leads me around very easily, and I'm able to express myself calmly and completely naturally. He compliments me constantly, making me feel more beautiful and confident and helping me to loosen up more and more. While we talk, he doesn't miss a single click.
"That's it, girl. Wonderful. This photo was amazing. After the video went viral on the internet, your social media followers went through the roof, didn't they?" asked Mario.
"Yes, it was scary. In 24 hours, the number of my Instagram followers increased 50-fold, and my Facebook page was flooded with hundreds of friend requests," I reply.
