ROSALIE.

"..."THE doorbell rang unexpectedly, I was sitting in the living room, completing some paperwork on my laptop, before my concentration had gone away. Simon was still away on one of his deployments, he was probably going to be back tomorrow.
With a sigh, I placed to the side the device and got up, pulling my hair up in a messy bun. I wasn't expecting anyone today, not even my friends, yet what welcomed me sent butterflies to my stomach.
"Mrs Riley?" The old man questioned, uncertainty hinting in his tone. In his arms was a huge bouquet of red roses, bright and beautiful.
There was no way they were for me.
I could count at least thirty of them, and I wasn't even done. "Yes, that's me." I flashed him a smile, opening my arms to welcome the surprise into my arms,
"They're from Mr Riley. He wishes you a happy birthday."
How sweet of him. Even though it was the tenth time in a round of three months, I was still flattered by the amount of roses I've received from my husband.
He never missed a chance to put a smile on my lips.
Bidding goodbye to the florist, I closed the door with my foot and I looked for the letter between the petals, before I found it.
A dark shade of red, just like my favorite color. Will he ever stop to kill my insides?
I eagerly opened the letter as I sat at the table, placing carefully down the roses over the surface.
This man. What a man. The man that you are, Simon Riley.
I let out a small laugh, judging the messy handwriting and the sweetness coating them. He was never good at expressing his love, but he always let me know through tiny gestures and I was so grateful.
I couldn't find anyone better than him, he was unique with his scars and being.
That sweet asshole.
