Peter was pacing back and forth worriedly, keeping his eyes glued down to the floor as he kept mumbling to himself, his head filled with thoughts.. He was meeting THE AVENGERS. He had to properly introduce himself.. Even after the Civil war.
"What am I supposed to say?! 'Hi, I'm Peter Parker. I'm Mr. Stark's intern!' It's too simple.."
Tony watched the teen's nervous demeanor, his eyes crinkling with amusement. As he sighs, Tony steps behind and messes up his hair, chuckling softly. "Relax, you'll be fine kid." He says calmly, "Don't overthink it, they'll love ya." The billionaire added as he stood next to the door.
"It'll be fine, just like our first meeting." "Mr. Stark, you just popped up in my living room out of nowhere at that moment!"
"I won't let you back in the lab until you actually introduce yourself."
".. fineee.."
"Don't be dramatic," Tony teases, patting the teen's back. "Now let's get in there before we make them think we're hiding something. We have to do something at the lab too." Peter lets out a laugh and gives a firm nod, following his mentor on going out of the room.
With a flourish, Tony Stark runs his hand through his hair and opens the door, revealing the group of Avengers having a conversation.
They all turn to look as Tony clears his throat, demanding their attention. "Hey, hey! All of you, Shut it," Tony commanded. "I have someone to introduce to everyone, AND NO leaving."
The group of heroes quiets down as they give their attention to Tony, their eyes falling on the teenager standing timidly behind him. The billionaire nudges Peter to move forward.
The teen takes a deep breath, "Uh, hi. I'm P-Peter, Sp-..I mean, Peter Parker. From Queens. I'm an intern here, yeah, yadayada.." he says with a nervous chuckle, awkwardly looking at the crowd in front of him.
Tony Stark can't help but tease a little. He leans in and whispers, "Good job, underoos," but it was just loud enough for the entire group to hear.
The other Avengers look confused, exchanging shocked glances.
"Wait, that's him?"
"That's the guy with the spider powers?!"
"THAT'S SPIDER-MAN?!"
"THAT KID WENT TO A FIGHT WITH US?!"
Steve can't believe what he's seeing, that kid was the one he DROPPED an airport gangway on. He blinks twice in disbelief. The man shook his head and let out an exasperated sigh.
"Tony, are you kidding me?! You brought a kid to a fight IN GERMANY?"
He rubs his temples, trying to process the situation. Peter looks at the blonde man and lets out his defense, "Hey! I did pretty well in that fight," he protested. Peter looks away from Steve to turn his attention towards Doctor Banner.
"You! Mr. Banner! I'm so glad to show up here and see you! LIKE, REALLY, REALLY, GLAD! I-"
Here comes Hulk rambles..-
"-I've been a fan of your works.. Y-Your I-.. Your RESEARCH! Y-Your WORKS ON PHYSICS!!" He lets out a squeal as he continues to ramble, trying possible ways to make a long list why he loved the doctor while his words were tumbling in excitement.
"Thank you? I mean, honestly," Bruce says, slightly taken aback but nonetheless pleased. "I...I wasn't expecting someone your age to read my work." He chuckles, he was both surprised and amused by the kid.
..Steve Rogers steps in to the conversation.
"Tony," he calls him out with a scowl, crossing his arms. "You brought a kid to Germany and let him fight with us? What is wrong with you?!"
Before Tony can even defend himself, Peter jumps in to defend instead.
"Mr. Rogers, I know your concern for me and anger for Mr. Stark but I can tell you that I'm fine! Mr. Stark gave me a new suit for me at that time too! So, don't blame Mr. Stark, I accepted his request. I still hate you for dropping that airplane gangway.." Peter rolls his eyes then he adds,
"But Forget about it," Peter says, waving his hand. "What matters is that I did well and Mr. Stark did great. And...the others too, obviously!" He giggles.
".. Tony."
"... Steve."
"Be lucky you manage to pick the right person.."
Tony smirks and ruffles Peter's hair once again. "Yeah! I picked the right kid!" The billionaire proudly says while Peter lets out a laugh at his mentor's action.
Peter then faces the group of heroes once again before speaking up,
"I hope you guys are fine with me.. And uh, yeah. Maybe I can at least try to hang out with you all after I'm done with school! WAIT! Maybe I can show you all my favorite Star Wars M-"
Tony sighs and covers Peter's mouth with his hand to prevent him from rambling anymore.
"That's all, just enjoy the kid. Don't go too hard on him," Tony says as he removes his hand from Peter's mouth and makes his way back to the lab.
Peter notices that his mentor was already leaving, so he waves goodbye to the team with a small smile.
"Bye!! I hope I can hang out with you all later!!"
"Hurry up, kid!"
"COMING MR. STARK!"
The Avengers watch the duo leave the room, a few of them noticing the fond interaction already.
Some of them grin, finding it amusing to see Tony Stark already having a soft spot for the kid but of course the man wouldn't admit it anytime soon.
"I.. I hope I didn't break any of that kid's bones.." "Probably not, but maybe." The Winter Soldier gives a pat on Steve's back.
