Dark Side

II. Hazel

Every one knows this feeling when your boyfriend turns into a lion and destroys your room because he lost at mythomagic.

Of course, she was a bit annoyed. But only a little bit. Mostly she was amused and filled with love while watching Frank tear apart her curtains. What a wonderful, beautiful, calm boy. Lion. Iguana. Whatever.

Leo was eating popcorn, (Hazel could swear that Leo had a spell to make popcorn appear at the right moment (or just a really good carryable microwave.))

Nico hid behind Will while watching Leo eat. Will gave Piper, who wouldn't stop laughing like a maniac, a bombastic side eye.

Jason and Annabeth shared a look (I-give-up or I-swear-I-am-gonna-murder-them-all-in-their-sleep, Hazel couldn't really see that).
Then they sighed.

Hazel loved family Chaos. There are a few things she really loved: her friends, who more seemed like her family now, Frank, curses (Arion told her some excellent ones, Hazel though tPercy's face was going to explode when he translated them to her), Nico, Frank, Frank, hot chocolate, the camps, Frank, fluffy kittens, family chaos, sunshine and Frank.

For a moment she watched Frank. Then he grabbed him and cuddled him. "You are a cute lion", she whispered into his ear. He purred. Annabeth laughed at the sight, and Hazel expected Percy to laugh along. She hadn't hear him say anything for today. She looked over to him and frowned.

Percy was pale, looking like he had seen a ghost. He looked like he hadn't slept in a hundred years and, just... horrible. Hazel just didn't know another word to describe it. Of course she had noticed that Percy was pale the whole day, but it started drawing attention towards him. He catched Hazel's glance and looked away. But she could swear she had seen fear in his eyes.

"Percy, are you alright?" Now all the others were looking at him, too. "Yes." He forced a smile on his face, but Hazel knew it was fake. She was getting worried. She opened her mouth to say something, but something in Percy's eyes stopped her. Don't, they seemed to say. He was begging with his baby seal eyes, which were nearly as worse as Frank's pleading kitten eyes, and she closed her mouth.  Thank you, his eyes seemed to say.

Wow, something was really wrong. She was going to ask him later about that stuff, he clearly didn't want to say anythign now. But now everyone was sparing glances at him. Hazel saw the unspoken question in their eyes: If something was wrong, why didn't Percy tell them? Weren't they his friends? Hazel was sure he didn't even tell Annabeth, who took his hand and looked him in the eyes, a silent beg to tell what's wrong. He just shook his head, whispering he was alright. Hazel just wasn't so sure about that.

After a few hours, she nearly forgot about Percy and the fear in his eyes. A silent voice in her head told her, he doesn't matter. Better spend time with your friends. Just forget about him. Hazel didn't want to forget about one of her friends and his problems. But the voice wouldn't stop, telling her that Percy was alright. Nothing to worry about. Just leave him alone. Hazel refused, but after some time she'd forgotten what the conflict with her brain was all about. She wouldn't look at Percy, no one would that, and he would hide in the shadows, trying not to draw his friends' attention. He would be glad nobody would look at him and still hurt.

Hazel had fun with her friends. They were playing card games, working in the garden, laughing. Then, they went back in the house to eat dinner. Piper and Leo were missing.

. Nico and Will were bickering, Hazel and Frank were holding hands, what filled Hazel with warmth. She smiled. All of them ate what they could reach, teasing each other and having fun. Leo came running in, chasing Piper. "MCLEAN I AM GOING TO GET YOU!" Hazel snickered. "What did she do this time?", she asked Frank. Piper came back running in, laughing like a maniac. "I CHARMSPEAKED HIM TO FLIRT WITH CHIRON" Annabeth bursted out laughing, all the others too. Leo and Piper ran back out again. *insert screaming and breaking stuff in the distance*

When Hazel fell into her bed, she was smiling bright. Today had been a good day. But while falling asleep, she remembered one thing: she hadn't seen Percy smile the whole day.

And his aura of death was getting darker.

Okay... i am sleep deprived rn so this capter is probably bad, but i hope u like it anyways... the other chapters are going to be longer, and BETTER, but yeah.
