𝟎𝟖: 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥

Chapter 8  : Masquerade ball

The next morning, Damon, Iris and Stefan stand around Craoline who sits on the couch in the Salvatore house, "Here" Damon says as he hands Caroline a glass of blood. "I'm still shaking" Caroline says, "What happened?" Stefan and Iris ask. "Go ahead, tell them. You're gonna love this" Damon declares. "I saw Katherine today" Caroline shares, "Where?" Stefan asks, "At the Grill. I just stopped by to gawk and, quasi-stalk Matt" Caroline admits, "skip the teenage drama, get to it" Damon says.

"She followed me to the bathroom and told me to deliver a message" Caroline informs, "what message?" Iris asks, "she said, "tell Iris, Stefan and Damon that I want the moonstone tonight, at the masquerade ball, or this town will rain blood" Caroline says.

"She wants to do it in public. Putting down her little dog Mason threw her off guard" Iris remarks, "She's running scared. What she did to Jenna was desperate. She's out of tricks" Damon adds on. "We can't underestimate her. We have to play this smarter than her" Stefan reasons with his siblings.

"Can we just give her the moonstone so she'll leave?" Caroline asks, "No, Katherine's not getting dick. I've had it. I'm gonna go to the masquerade ball and I'm gonna kill her tonight" Iris declares, "You're not gonna kill her" Stefan protests as Damon rolls his eyes. "Don't give us that goody-goody crap" Damon chimes in. "You're not gonna kill her" Stefan protests, "Really?" Iris questions, "Because I am" Stefan says as a smile grows on Damon's face. "Woo! Let's go kill that bitch!" Iris exclaims.

About an hour later, now joined by Alaric and Jeremy, everyone is organizing weapons and formatting a plan to kill Katherine as Aalric lays his weapons out the doorbell rings. "Hey, come on in" Caroline greets as she opens the door and Bonnie walks in, "I got Stefan's message" Bonnie says as she hands Stefan the grimoire.

"Hey, you brought the grimoire, thank you" Stefan thanks with a smile as Bonnie "What's going on?" Bonnie asks as she looks around at the Salvatore home. "We're gonna kill Katherine" Iris and Jeremy say, "jinx" Iris mutters to Jeremy.

"I can explain: Stefan states. "Please" Bonnie responds, "We're gonna kill Katherine" Stefan repeats, "This works with compressed air. The trigger mechanism is up here. I have two of these in a different size" Alaric explains, holding up a weapon. As Alric hands the weapon to Iris she accidently shoots it into the wall, "oops" she mutters as Stefan and Damon shoot their sister a disapproving glare.

" You wanted me to show you how to kill a vampire," Alaric says, defending Iris.
"Are you sure you guys don't want me there tonight?" Alaric asks a little whole later as Stefan shakes his head. "No, I need you to stay with Elena. I don't want her to know about this" Stefan says. "Okay. Well, I'll make sure she doesn't leave my sight" Alric reassures him . "Alright, if anybody wants to back out, I'll understand" Stefan adds as everyone looks around the room.

"Yeah. Cold feet speak now. I don't want this going wrong if someone chicken's out" Damon says, glaring at Caroline, "I won't. Look, she killed me. Fair's fair. As long as there's no werewolf running around" Caroline responds in defense. "Oh, I took care of Mason," Damon reassures her. "As long as Tyler doesn't kill anyone, he won't turn" Jeremy adds.

"Bonnie? Are you with us?" Iris asks, "But no one gets hurt" Bonnie says after a  long pause, "Except Katherine. Tonight that bitch gets a stake through her heart" Iris clarifies as Damon hums in agreement, "great! I'm gonna go get changed" Iris says as she walks up to her room.

An hour later Iris stands in front of her mirror, admiring her mini black, sleeveless dress with slight gold sparkles, she ties her black and gold sparkle laced masquerade mask on her face and ties the strap around her black heels. Iris curled her straight black hair into blow out curls as she touches up her lipgloss and makes her way downstairs. "How do I look?" Iris asks, giving her two brothers a small twirl, "great, lets go" Damon dismisses, clearly in a rush, "alright alright" Iris says, "you look amazing 'ris" Stefan says to her sister as they walk out to the car.
