𝟏𝟎: 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝

Chapter 10  : Back from the dead

The next morning Iris walks down the stairs to see Stefan and Damon ready to leave, "where are you going?" she asks her brothers, "to see Katherine, you coming?" Stefan answers with a sigh, "Elena went to see her yesterday and Katherine fed her some story and how Klaus needs the moonstone for the sacrifice or something" Damon explains. "Great let's go" Iris says sarcastically.

Iris, Damon and Stefan walk down the stairs to the tomb as Katherine walks to the entrance, "sup Kat" Iris greets with a fake smile, "Please, come on in. There's plenty of room for all of us" Katherine replies with a smirk. "I'd rather poke my eyes out" Damon snaps back, "Mmm, they're such pretty eyes" Katherine declares.

"We're here for the moonstone" Stefan states, "Feel like tossing it over?" Iris asks, "Tell you what, you get your little witch to hocus pocus me out of here, you can have whatever you want" Katherine offers. "I thought you liked it in here. Nice and safe where Klaus can't get to you" Stefan remarks. "I've had time to reconsider" Katherine reasons, "Meaning you're hungry" Damon says.

"I'm starving, Damon. And dirty. But above all, I'm bored" Katherine complains. "At least running from Klaus wasn't boring, so here's the deal: you get me out of here, you get the moonstone and I'll disappear from Mystic Falls forever" Katherine reasons as Stefan and Damon roll their eyes, starting to walk to the exit as Iris stays where she is.

"Believe me, you're going to want this moonstone Iris, Klaus wants you even more than he wants Elena" Katherine warns, "don't listen to her 'ris" Stefan protests, "If you know something fess up" Iris orders, "well maybe I will if I get out" Katherine says as she shrugs her shoulders and disappears further in the tomb.

Later on Damon, Stefan and Iris walk into Elena's house as they sit around the chairs in her kitchen, "You don't believe her, do you?" she asks her after the salvatores informing her on everything that happened with Katherine. "No, of course not. We just want the moonstone" Damon says as Iris picks at her fingers, looking down, clearly bothered by what Katherine said. "According to Rose's friend Slater, there's a way to destroy the spell that Klaus wants to break" Stefan explains.

"No spell, no doppelgänger sacrifice. Ergo, you live" Damon informs, "How do you destroy it?" Elena asks, "By releasing it from the moonstone" Stefan informs, "How do you guys even know this is gonna work?" Elena questions. "Cause we have a crafty witch on our side" Damon remarks, "You discussed it with Bonnie?" Elena asks as Stefan nods his head.

"She agreed to do anything she could to help us" Stefan says, "It's Katherine who has the moonstone. She's not gonna give it to you" Elena says. "We're gonna get it from her" Stefam confidently states, "Well, what he means to say is, we will pry it from her cold, dead hand if we have to" Iris adds on. "Bonnie just needs to find a way to release the seal long enough for us to get in, get the moonstone, and get out in time for her to return it" Stefan explains.

"Wow. I mean, it sounds like you guys already have it all planned out" Elena says, "Yep. We're awesome" Damon replies with a smirk. "Except for one thing. I don't want you to do it" Elena says as Iris looks at her confused and Damon and Stefan share glances. "What are you talking about? Elena, we don't have a choice" Stefan states.

"What about Klaus?" Elena asks, "We'll find him right after we get the moonstone" Stefan states, "Is that before or after he kills everyone that I care about, including the two of you and then takes Iris" Elena says. "Elena, if we can de-spell the moonstone, we can save your life" Damon states, "I know. Everybody keeps saying that" she says as she walks off.

As Stefan and Damon leave the gilbert house Iris hangs back, "I need your help" Elena states, "you want more information on Klaus right?" Elena asks, "yeah" Iris cautiously replies, "great follow me" Elena says as she grabs Iris's arm and begins dragging her out of the house.
