Mina followed Taehee into the cozy new room that was now hers. The walls were painted a soft, warm cream, and the single window let in a nice stream of light that made the room feel inviting. Taehee smiled at her, gently touching her shoulder.Taehee: So, what do you think?
Taehee asked softly, watching Mina's reaction.
Mina looked around, taking in the compact space.
Mina: It's... smaller than my old room, but... I like it. It feels... cozy.
She gave Taehee a reassuring smile.
Taehee nodded, visibly relieved.
Taehee: Good. I wanted you to feel comfortable here. And you're welcome to decorate however you like. Make it your own.
Mina's eyes brightened.
Mina: Thank you. I'll definitely put some posters up.
Taehee chuckled softly before clearing her throat.
Taehee: There's something I wanted to ask you... about school. Do you want to keep going to your current school, or would you prefer to transfer to one closer to here?
Mina's heart sank at the thought. A part of her wanted to start fresh, but then memories of her friends, Heeseung, Aerum, and everyone else came flooding back. She couldn't imagine not seeing them every day.
Mina: I... I think I'd like to stay at my school.
Mina said quietly, her voice soft but resolute.
Taehee gave a gentle nod, understanding.
Taehee: I thought you might say that. We'll make it work.
She offered Mina a reassuring smile before standing up.
Taehee: I'll let you settle in. I'm going to make us something to eat.
As her mother left the room, Mina took a deep breath and surveyed her new space. It was hers now, and she felt a strange mix of relief and longing. Without hesitating, she began unpacking her suitcase, folding clothes and carefully putting her things in the closet. The fresh scent of clean sheets filled the air as she laid new bedding down, and she began arranging her desk, trying to bring a little piece of her old life into this room.
A gentle knock on the door made her look up. Jungkook poked his head in, smiling warmly.
Jungkook: Need a hand?
Mina grinned, feeling the heaviness in her chest lighten.
Mina: Actually, yeah. Folding and putting away all of this by myself would take forever.
Jungkook walked in and joined her on the floor, where she had stacks of clothes ready to go.
Jungkook: Alright, I'll stack, and you fold.
They started working together, and before long, they found themselves chatting comfortably.
Jungkook: So... how's it feel to be here?
Jungkook asked after a bit.
Mina paused, thinking.
Mina: It feels... different. Good, but... you know, it's weird.
Jungkook nodded, setting down a stack of neatly folded shirts.
Jungkook: I get that. New places always take some adjusting, especially when you're used to something else.
Mina: Yeah. How did you feel after moving in with mum?
Mina glanced at him.
He thought for a moment, then nodded.
