At Aslan's stage, Edmund had approached Peter and Oreius to see them both looking uncertain. Yesterday, things seemed to be looking up for them. But now, they weren't and everything seemed pretty bleak now. Peter and Oreius were both lost without Aslan's great leadership and wise guidance.
"Peter." Edmund's voice is filled with great confidence. "There is an army out there, and it's ready to follow you."
"I can't." Peter shook his head, still shaken by what happened.
"Aslan believed you could. And so do I." Peter looked over to his brother, stunned by Edmund's honest words.
"Your Majesties." The three of them turned to see Nora standing in front of them, her expression filled with grim determination and steadfast courage. "If I may?" She pulled out her sword and planted it into the earth, whilst bowing in front of them. "I, Nora Archer, have been named Narnia's First Warrior by Aslan, the Great Lion. And I am more than honored to be friends with you all. But in the midst of the battlefield, I shall trust you to make the right decision for the fight ahead. I will fight alongside you all for as long I can. I'm willing to protect our families and friends from the danger ahead. You have stood by me, and I by you."
Edmund gave her a soft smile, but he quickly strengthened his expression and placed his hand on top of hers. "I, King Edmund, by the will of Aslan, accept your gifts that you have told us. I shall fight alongside you in the battlefield."
Peter joined them. "I, King Peter, by the will of Aslan, accept your gifts that you have given us. I shall fight alongside you in the battlefield." He placed his hand on top of his younger brother's.
Oreius joined them. "And I, General Oreius, by the will of Aslan, accept your gift and your friendship." He placed his hand on top of the three protectors.
With determined smiles, the four gathered ones let go of each other's hands and Nora sheathed her sword after she had gotten up. Her aid had set aflame their once shaky confidence into a strong grip. But now, it's time for them to stand their ground and fight.
"The Witch's army is nearing Sire," Orieus said. "What are your orders?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The orders were to gathered everyone in Aslan's army onto one side of the Beruna Fields while the White Witch's army will appear on the other side. Peter was riding on the unicorn whilst standing on a small rock cropping in front of the army. By his sides were Nora on her brave war mare, Amaya, on his right side and Oreius on his left side. Looking up to the sky, he saw the leader of the griffins swooping down.
The griffin landed beside Peter, and began to speak quickly. "They come Your Highness, in numbers and weapons far greater than our own!"
"Numbers do not win a battle," stated Orieus on Peter's left.
"No," Peter said. "But I bet they help."
He looked over the plain, and was starting to see the Witch's army. As they came up closer and closer, he finally saw the Witch. She was in a chariot driven by two white bears, and it looked as if she had a mane around her.
That's Aslan's mane! Nora thought angrily.
Peter looked behind his shoulder at his younger brother, Edmund, who was standing on the cliffs with the archers. Edmund nodded at him, and he turned back around. Taking a deep breath, and setting his gaze, he drew his sword. Narnians behind him roared and cheered, ready to fight back for their freedom.
Peter sliced his sword through the air, and groups of griffins began filling up the sky. Their leader flew up from beside Peter, and led them on. They watched as the griffins through down the rocks they were carrying, but they also saw many fall under the Witch's dwarves' deadly arrows.
Peter turned to Orieus. "Are you with me?"
"To the death," replied Orieus.
Peter looked over to his right. Nora was riding a silver bay mare. She was wearing chain mail over a red gambeson and accompanied by dark red trousers and gloves with dark brown boats. Her gauntlets were in the shade of silvery-gray. She also has on a long red cloak with the crest of Narnia in gold. But she was the only one not wearing a helmet.
"Nora?" Peter was about to ask her the same question.
Her eyes gleamed with great courage and fierce determination. "To the end."
He looked over at the oncoming army. Just a few more seconds. They hit the mark! Peter raised his sword high in the air, and shouted. "For Narnia! And For Aslan!" The pure white unicorn he's on has reared up and neighed loudly.
Peter urged the unicorn, and they ran for the attack. The world seemed to suddenly go in slow motion. Peter could sense Orieus and Nora at his sides. He could almost feel the heated breath of their opponents. He put the visor on his helmet over his face. They all continued running towards their enemies.
Spears hit minotaurs, leopards hit tigers, and the battle began. Peter swung his sword down at a white tiger on top of one of the leopards. Orieus hit a pair of minotaurs with his swords. Nora's bow was shooting down dwarves, hags, and werewolves.
Nora soon saw that they were outnumbered greatly. For every Centaur there was, there was three Minotaurs. For every Faun there was, there was two Werewolves. And still they fought. She was shooting arrows, hitting every target she fought against. Her dagger had killed many leg cutters, and her sword had taken on too many things for her to count. She looked over to Peter. He seemed to be alright at the moment, but they needed to do something quick before.
"Oh snap!" Nora exclaimed. The Witch had started moving in another part of her army in. "Peter!" He looked over toward her, and she pointed to the Witch. Seeing what she saw, he raised his sword again. Within a few moments, a fiery phoenix could be seen flying through the air, his body a huge burst of fire. It made a line in between them and the Witch's oncoming army.
The Narnians cheered, but Nora was concerned and worried. Something wasn't right. And she soon found out why. Not five seconds after the line was made, it disappeared in a burst of the Witch's ice.
"Fall back!" Nora heard Peter shout. "Draw them to the rocks!"
"Come on," She urged Amaya.
"On it!" nickered Amaya.
...And that's when the Narnians ran towards the rocks. As they neared the rocks, Nora could see as the arrows flew overhead and towards the enemies behind them, and could see Edmund in the midst of the archers. Edmund's face all of a sudden changed into a face full of fear, but it wasn't for himself.
Nora turned around. Peter was on the ground! She turned Amaya around, and ran towards him. When she got beside Peter, she started shooting. Peter dazedly got up, and turned around for a moment. He nodded to her and she quickly went back into the battle.
That's when a fierce battle has begun. The young girl against the fierce army. They were strong fighters, but so was Nora. Their weapons clashed against each other, steel against fangs and enemies against enemies. Nora's agility and strength is a strong match against the White Witch army's abilities. Nora had used her skills and powers to get out of trouble more than once from the White Witch army's attempted attacks on her. They continued fighting each other with great ferocity. Nora quickly countered it by using the combined power of her steadfast strength and courage.
But a loud explosion was heard and it caused Nora to fall off Amaya. As she stood up and ended up being cornered by a group of Hags, she suddenly heard a loud roar from overhead. She turned her head. A great lion leaped upon a rock, and roared into the wind, shining bright as the rising sun.
"Aslan," whispered Nora.
And then from his left and right sides came more armies of Narnians to help out the exhausted army. She didn't notice that the Witch and Peter had continued fighting. The Witch had been able to wound Peter over his right eye, and now had him on the ground and pinned him with one of her blades on his left shoulder.
"Ahhh!" Peter screamed in pain.
But the Witch never got to enjoy his pain. She felt herself rapidly thrown back, and looked into eyes of gold. Aslan had returned to finish what she had started. He turned around, and looked at Peter. "It is finished."
"Peter," Susan and Lucy shouted to him. He turned around and hugged his younger sisters.
But Susan noticed something quickly. "Where is Edmund?" Peter, Susan, and Lucy ran over to the place that he was laid at. Edmund was struggling to breathe.
Susan quickly spotted a dwarf coming up with an axe and ready to kill him. "Edmund!" Susan shot an arrow, hitting dwarf and he fell dead.
The three siblings surrounded their injured brother. Susan took off Edmund's helmet, while Lucy took out a cordial out of her belt. Opening the top, she put a single drop of the red liquid into Edmund's mouth. Nora watched from a distance, a brand new scar marked over her right eyebrow.
Edmund coughed once, then twice. His eyes slowly fluttered open. Nora sighed in relief, he's alive! Peter grabbed Edmund and held him tight. The eldest brother pulled his younger brother back.
"When are you going to learn to do as you're told?" Peter said, amused and relieved. Edmund smiled, and the four embraced in a tight circle.
The hours passed quickly as Aslan unfroze everyone from their statue forms with his breath and Lucy used her cordial to help those who had been injured in the battle. The alliance that Aslan and the two girls had brought in helped the others too. Nora was excitedly hugged Amaya and Kiba, but they soon start searching for Orieus together.
Once Orieus was freed from his statue form, thanks to Aslan's aid. His heart leaped with joy at the sight of him. He thought he was killed by the Witch, but the sacrifice that he made had shown that he had managed to come back alive miraculously. But a terrible thought entered his mind. Where was Nora at?
Understanding his fears, Aslan smiled. "At peace Orieus. Nora is safe and tending to the others."
As Aslan walked away to help the other statued Narnians, Orieus started looking around for the search of Nora. After a bit, he soon found her looking for him with Amaya and Kiba.
"Nora!" exclaimed Orieus.
His voice caught her attention and her expression brightened with joy. "Orieus!"
The two of them both hugged each other, relieved to see each other again. Amaya and Kiba both joined them, also very relieved. But watching them nearby was a certain pair of siblings, bright smiles decorated their faces. The General and the Warrior are reunited after the battle.
