"Hey Sera! Let's go to our classes together!" Estrelia excitedly said to Seraphine while watching her put on her belt.
'Their school uniform isn't that bad' Seraphine thought as she looked at herself wearing a deep midnight blue robe with silver accents along the edges.
The robe is belted at the waist with a slender leather strap, and underneath, she wears a tailored white blouse with a high collar and has a badge which have a crescent moon carve on it. A pleated, knee-length charcoal gray skirt complements a knee-high black boots.
"Go ahead without me." Seraphine replied without any hint of interest that made her pout.
Grabbing her bag, she looked at Estrelia who was still pouting.
"Ehhhh but-"
"I gotta go." She cut her off and walked away, leaving her behind.
While walking, Seraphine took out her folded school map from her bag and opened it. She then took out her wand, pointing it at the blank map before chanting a spell.
"Viáre Veritás Ostènde" She softly chanted, and an image of the academy appeared.
"Show me the classroom for senior year students." She added as her wand glowed.A dot suddenly appeared, showing her current location and the direction to the classroom.
She started walking with the map in hand, ignoring the other students' stares and whispers.
After a few minutes, she finally reached her first destination. The gigantic door opened on its own, revealing a spacious room lined with tall, dark wooden bookshelves filled with ancient tomes and scrolls glowing faintly with enchantments. At the front, an ornate wooden desk sits before a large enchanted chalkboard that displays moving text and illustrations. The walls are adorned with portraits of legendary wizards and plush, high-backed chairs surround tables where the students sat, all staring at her.
With her usual blank expression, she looked back at them and they quickly looked away. She scanned the room and walked to an empty seat beside the window while some students secretly watched her every move in the corner of their eyes.
She placed her bag on her table as she sat down.
"Who are you?"
She turned to see her seatmate and saw a guy with glasses who's seriously holding a book in one hand. He set it down, his serious green eyes meeting her cold, charcoal eyes.
"What did you do to get accepted as a senior-year student?" He asked, looking at her as he was trying to read her mind.
"Nothing." Seraphine responded simply, looking straight ahead.
She could still feel his sharp gaze, but it was cut off when their professor walked in.
"Hello students This is our first lesson of the year, and it's your first day of school. I'm Professor Magnus Hawk, your Wizard Literature professor." Professor Hawk introduced himself with a smile. "There's no need for introduction." He added pulling his wand from his sleeve. "Our first lesson is about the origin of dark wizards. Centuries ago, there were three legendary friends, Cedric Windmere the wizard, Arabella Ashford the witch, and Thaddeus Raven the sorcerer."
Professor Hawk tapped the board with his wand and a moving shadow image of two men and one woman appeared. Then it shifted to a beautiful place, filled with tall tress and simple yet elegant houses with ivy-covered walls and shimmering rooftops dot the glade, each home infused with unique charms that enhance the beauty of the surroundings.
"A long time ago, these three races lived together in harmony in a place called 'Celestial Glade', it was protected by a powerful stone called 'celestial stone', which protects them from the beasts. Wizards and witches remain allies to this day, but the sorcerers are not. Does anyone know why?" -Professor Hawk
The guy beside Seraphine raised his hand.
"Yes, Maldiver?" Professor Hawk signaled for him to stand up.
"Thaddeus became greedy and stole the celestial stone because whoever possesses it would be the most powerful. When he stole it, the barrier that protected the Celestial Glade broke, allowing the beasts to attack them" He explained.
Professor Hawk applauded as the students looked at him in admiration, except for Seraphine.
"Very good, plus ten points for Mythical Guild." -Professor Hawk
"Yessss!!"
"Woohoo!"
Students from the Mythical Guild cheered while the others just sneered. He adjusted his glasses before sitting down.
The image on the board changed again, now showing the three races fighting the powerful beasts, not just the beasts but also the sorcerers.
"Thaddeus turned against them, blinded by greed for power. The bond between the wizards, witches, and the sorcerers broke, and left the Celestial Glade to forge their own path."-Professor Hawk
The image of the beautiful and lively Celestial Glade on the board turned dark and desolate.
"That's what the look of the Celestial Glade after the stone was stolen. However, Thaddeus and the sorcerers remained at that place. To this day, no one knows where the Celestial Glade is, nor have the sorcerers showed up."-Professor Hawk
"What happened to Thaddeus and the stone after that?" A female student from the Legendary Guild asked.
"It remains a mystery. No one knows what happened to Thaddeus or the stone. But one thing is certain, Thaddeus never conquered the world as he intended.""-Professor Hawk
"Why?"
Not far from Seraphine, she saw Estrelia raise her hand to ask.
"A wizard named Solomon Eschovaske became interested in the stone and sought to find the Celestial. When he did, he fought with Thaddeus and managed to claim the stone. Solomon ruled the entire world for a century with an army of wizards he recruited by promising them a power. That is how dark wizards came to be."-Professor Hawk
"But how did his reign end?" A student from the guardian guild asked.
"The witches and light wizards fought him, although most of them died but still they won the battle. The legendary wizard, Cedric, hid the magical stone somewhere only him knows. But legend has it that Solomon has a son, and according to the prophecy, the history will repeat itself." -Professor Hawk
"What's his son's name?" Estrelia asked once again.
Professor Hawk went quiet for a couple of seconds as fear was visible on his eyes.
"Vladimir."-Professor Hawk
Seraphine stiffened as she heard a familiar name.
'Something was off in that story. There's a lot of holes that doesn't feel right.'
Seraphine thought to herself and turn to look at the window beside her while professor Hawk continued on his lesson.
