Antonio

"Wedding, marriage, expenses, blah, craaaaaap."

Monroe rolled her eyes. "Don't be so excited."

"I'm sorry. I am excited. Very excited." I smiled as hard as I can. "See?"

"Yeah, yeah." She stretched across the bed and scribbled on a pad of paper. "What kind of flowers should we have?"

"How about no flowers?"

"No flowers? What?"

"Hear me out! Why don't we have something small, personal, and-"

"Cheap? Um, how about no?"

"Well, I mean, why do we have to plan now? We can't get married until this time next year anyway. The divorce papers need to be finalized."

"Do you love me?"

"Of course."

"Then we plan now. And we will have no speak of her in this house."

"What? It's my house!"

"Soon to be mine, also."

I chuckled and looked around the almost but-not-quite-so replica bedroom of my last house. "Okaaaaay!"

"Antonio, I'm hungry."

"I'm Antonio." I kissed her hand. "The pleasure is mine, beautiful."

"Seriously, let's go out to eat."

"Sure, I've been wanting to try that new frappe at McDonalds."

"Excuse me?"

"What?"

"I'm not even sure what language you're speaking right now."

"Dollar menu."

"Do I look like some cheap whore to you?"

"....I mean-"

She flipped me the bird and continued down the plush white stairs, grabbing the keys out of the bowl along with my wallet.

"Where ya going?"

"I'm taking the Bentley."

"To go where?"

"You're taking me out to eat."

"Am I?"

She pulled my Black Card out of my wallet and waved it in my face. "Yeah, you are. And I advise you to come along with me unless you don't want to accompany me to Lennox."

"Who said anything about going to the mall?"

"You love me?"

"Yeah?"

"Feed me and spoil me."

I layed my head in my hands at the mixing panel.

"She almost maxed out my card!"

"You're an idiot." Trey said, nonchalantly spinning a basketball around his finger.

"Don't listen to Trey's single ass. That's part of the game!" Chris twirled in his chair. "That's part of the fun."

"How is she spending my money fun?"

"I like to think of it as a game. Take however much she spent and see if you can make triple that with the next single."

Trey rolled his eyes. "You're a royal ass, Chris."

"But royalty indeed."

"Yeah, whatever. Tone, you do realize that this is the girl you're marrying, right?"
