It was a Friday morning and Josephine stood in front of her bedroom mirror, taking one last glance at her outfit for the interview. She had chosen a sleek, fitted blazer over a pale blouse, paired with tailored pants and subtle accessories. With her resume tucked neatly into her portfolio, she felt a sense of purpose she hadn't felt in a while. This was her first real step into a field she had studied for years—a chance to showcase her marketing degree and prove herself professionally. It's been hard for her to find jobs after she graduated college for some reason, so she's been working at retail stores. Her last job fired her because her last co-worker lied to the boss that she was saying bad things about her. Her last boss never liked her anyway, so she took that opportunity to end it with Josephine. Josephine was upset for a week and of course, Felix was there to comfort her.
After slipping her phone into her bag, she typed a quick message to Ryan: "Hey, heading to the interview! Wish me luck."
She took a deep breath, reminding herself to stay focused and confident. As she walked out of her house and stepped into her car, her phone buzzed with a reply from Ryan: "Good luck, Jo! You're going to do great."
Josephine smiled to herself once she saw that text message. Ryan made her feel a certain type of way and every time she heard from him, her heart would skip a beat.

The graphic design firm's building was sleek and modern, with large glass windows reflecting the cityscape. Josephine entered, greeted by the clean, contemporary lobby. She checked in with the receptionist, who led her to a waiting area just outside the interview room. Taking a seat, she glanced over her resume one last time, mentally rehearsing the points she wanted to highlight.
The door soon opened, and a man in his early forties stepped out. He had a friendly but professional demeanor, with sharp features softened by his welcoming smile.
"Josephine?" he greeted, extending a hand. "I'm Andrew, head of advertising here. Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too, Andrew," she replied, shaking his hand firmly. She followed him into a bright, airy room with several art pieces hanging on the walls. As they sat down, Josephine focused on keeping her nerves in check, reminding herself of her preparation and the years she'd spent honing her skills.
"Alright, Josephine," Andrew began, glancing at her resume. "I see you've got a degree in marketing. Tell me a bit about your experience and what drew you to advertising."
Josephine smiled, feeling a surge of excitement as she began to speak. "My degree gave me a solid foundation in marketing, but I've always been especially interested in the creative side of advertising. During my internships in college, I enjoyed finding ways to connect brands with people, using storytelling to make a message resonate. I think my attention to detail and passion for creative strategies could really bring value to your firm."
