AN: *important please read* Hello! Thank you for getting this far and reading my book. My story is mostly planned out and written. Please like, comment and share so I know people actually like this novel so that I will be encouraged to post the rest. If the book doesn't do that well in ratings, unfortunately, I won't be posting the other chapters since I'll assume not that many people like it. Thank you for helping a girl out! 💜

Josephine shut the door behind her and leaned against it, exhaling a long, shaky breath. She could still feel the tension in her muscles from Felix's confession, his words lingering in her mind. She glanced at her phone, biting her lip. It was past midnight, nearly 1 a.m., but she needed to talk to Larisa about this. It does involve her, after all. Without thinking twice, she dialed Larisa's number, pacing anxiously as the phone rang.
After several rings, Larisa finally answered, her voice groggy and annoyed. "Josephine...why are you calling me at 1 a.m.?"
"Larisa, I'm freaking out," Josephine whispered, barely able to contain the panic in her voice. "Felix...he confessed to me. Like, actually confessed with this fancy dinner and candles and everything."
Larisa's voice changed instantly, waking up from her sleepiness and shifting to a teasing tone. "What did I tell you? I knew he had a thing for you. Told you so!"
Josephine sighed, sinking down onto her couch and holding her forehead. "I know, I know. But it was just... so overwhelming. I panicked. I didn't know what to say. And... I told him I'm a lesbian."
There was a beat of silence on the other end before Larisa burst out laughing. "Wait, what? You told him you're a lesbian? Are you serious?" Then she paused. "And let me guess, you somehow dragged me into this, didn't you?"
Josephine winced. "Um, yes... I may have said that we're dating. Officially. I was so desperate to get him to stop looking at me like that, and it just... slipped out. I didn't know what else to say."
Larisa's laughter quickly faded, replaced by an incredulous tone. "Josephine! Why would you do that? Why would you bring me into this lie without even asking?"
"I panicked, Larisa! I didn't know what else to say, and I didn't want to hurt him. Can you just... please, play along? At least until I figure out what to do?" Josephine pleaded, feeling guilt creep over her. She had never intended to involve Larisa, but her mind had blanked in the moment, and it was all she could come up with.
Larisa let out a frustrated sigh, then after a pause, she spoke with reluctant amusement. "Fine. But only because you're lucky I'd date you if I actually were a lesbian. You owe me for this, though."
Josephine chuckled, finally feeling a bit of the tension slip away. "Thank you. I don't know what I'd do without you."
"Yeah, yeah. But seriously, Jo, this is a mess. I hope you know that. You need to figure it out, you know that man is a bit sensitive." Larisa replied with a soft laugh. "Good luck trying to figure out how to get out of it. And don't call me at 1 a.m. next time. It takes 9 hours of sleep for me to look this good everyday."
