The cafeteria buzzed with chatter as Bible and Bas settled at their usual table. Bible was diving into a mountain of fries, still flustered from the earlier chaos. Across from him, Bas was struggling to contain his laughter, clearly relishing Bible's predicament.

"You've got to be kidding me," Bas chuckled, wiping tears from his eyes. "I can't believe it! You're actually going to marry your lecturer? That's like something out of a cheesy rom-com!"

Bible's eyes flared with indignation. "Shut up! This isn't funny! I can't believe you let Jes find me last night!"

Bas's laughter erupted once more, his shoulders shaking with mirth. "Dude, I tried! But Jes is like a bloodhound when it comes to finding people. You should have seen his face when he caught you. You were practically sprinting away from your own wedding!"

"Thanks for that comforting reminder," Bible grumbled, shoving a fry into his mouth to hide his irritation. But Bas wasn't letting up.

"I mean, you're the unluckiest guy I know!" Bas leaned back, grinning. "First, you're always late, and now you've got to marry the one person you absolutely can't stand. What are the odds?"

"Just because I'm late doesn't mean I deserve this fate!" Bible protested, glaring at his friend, who was clearly enjoying himself. Frustrated, he snatched another fry and, with a swift motion, shoved it into Bas's mouth to silence him.

"Hey!" Bas protested, cheeks stuffed. "You can't just-"

"Eat those instead of yapping!" Bible shot back, rolling his eyes but unable to suppress a smile.

Bas, trying to chew while laughing, eventually spat out a fry in disbelief. "Fine, you want to play like that? Just wait until you're stuck at family dinners with Jes! You'll have to sit there while he spouts off about quantum physics or something. How fun will that be?"

"Stop!" Bible said, shaking his head. "You're seriously the worst friend ever."

Just then, Jes walked into the cafeteria, scanning the room with that infuriating air of confidence. His gaze landed on Bible and Bas, amusement flickering in his eyes.

"Look at them," Job, Jes's friend, chuckled, leaning against the wall. "They're like a couple of kids."

"Seems like Bible is in over his head," Jes replied, arms crossed, smirking. "I mean, can you blame him? That fry incident was something else."

"Don't let them see you smirking," Job warned. "You'll only fuel the fire."

"Too late," Jes said, taking a seat at a nearby table, his eyes still trained on the chaotic duo.

Oblivious to Jes's scrutiny, Bible continued to bicker with Bas. "At least I'm not the one with a nickname like 'Mr. Perfect'! You should be the one worried about marrying someone!"

Bas feigned shock, clutching his heart dramatically. "How dare you! I'm a catch! I'll have my pick of suitors, thank you very much!"

"More like you'll be single forever!" Bible shot back, laughing despite himself.

As their playful argument escalated, Jes leaned back in his chair, a hint of amusement dancing in his expression. There was something oddly endearing about the way they bantered, even if it was mostly at Bible's expense.

"Those two are entertaining," Job remarked, shaking his head as he joined Jes at the table. "You should join in and mess with Bible a bit."

Jes considered it for a moment but shook his head. "Nah, I'll let him enjoy his fries while he can. I think he has enough on his plate."

"True," Job said, sipping his drink. "But you know this won't end well, right? You're going to have to deal with his dramatic side sooner or later."

"Yeah, I know," Jes replied, his expression turning serious. "But for now, I'm just watching the show."

Meanwhile, Bible and Bas were still at it, laughter and banter echoing through the cafeteria. "And what makes you think you can get out of this?" Bas asked, a playful grin plastered on his face. "You can't run away from a wedding forever!"

"Watch me!" Bible retorted, tossing a fry at Bas in mock defiance. "If I have to endure this hell, I'm dragging you with me!"

"Is that a promise?" Bas shot back, his laughter contagious.

As Bible and Bas continued their playful bickering, Jes couldn't help but feel a strange sense of intrigue watching them. For a moment, everything felt light and carefree, a brief escape from the weight of impending responsibilities.

It was a moment of normalcy that Bible desperately needed, even if he hated every minute of his impending marriage. But maybe, just maybe, if he could survive Jes's class, he could survive this too.
