FIFTEEN: Rise of DEVUX I

[ TDL ]

The hallways were as quiet as usual whenever i left my workplace.

The sounds of my boots colliding with the ground rang through to empty space. I kept my hands at my back while walking, i stood tall with my posture, letting everyone know who the boss was.

Finally, i reached the second building of my base, where sector S was located. Sector S was one of the main laboratories located, it was the home to my experimented virus, it was mostly contained in a vial.

A familiar person could be seen waiting infront of the large metal door of sector S. I approached him.

"Hello, Leo, i assume you called me here for the virus." I spoke, my tone neutral.

"Hello TDL, yes i have called you here because i have finished finalizing your virus."

"Lead the way" i said

He slid the keycard on the keycard scanner before the door opened with a loud metal sound, Leo walked in as i followed. Leo explained the details that he enhanced for DEVUX.

"The normal Vira-bot virus is fast, but not fast enough. Once Devux touches something, it immediately deletes, approximately 3.5 seconds of pain before the victim is wiled away from existence!" He joyfully exclaimed. I listened intently, satisfied that the virus has already been upgraded.

"You can easily conquer websites with this" he adds before stopping at one isolated area, an area that regular scientists couldn't just enter. And there it was, the red glowing substance contained in vials, each organized neatly on the desk.

Although i was satisfied with Leo's doing, I couldn't just let him go, not with this power.

"So what do you think, Dar—"

I summoned a blade from my left wristband before stabbing him in the chest from behind, my free hand on his mouth as i my mouth whispered near his head.

"You've done a great job Leo, it's time to rest."

Muffled sounds of surprise were heard before he got completely deleted, I tossed his deleting body to the side and walked towards the glowing red substance on the desk. I grabbed the box that contained the vials and carried it outside the room and towards another scientist chilling on his desk.

I dropped the box in front of him, he wast startled by the sudden sound. "Bring this to sector V, tell them to replace the vira-bots' viruses with this. And be careful to not touch it." My voice was stern at the last part, he immediately nodded and carried away the boxes.

[ Y/n ]

I held a a hand to my mouth to supress my heavy breathing, the other hand to my chest. My heart was beating fast as i hid behind the desk.

I just witnessed TDL kill another person, something about this moment caused my anxiety to rise up, especially since he almost saw me.

So this is what Seruv warned me about..

Once i was sure the coast was clear, i rose up from my hiding place and quietly got out of sector S. Thankfully no one noticed.
