While writing this update, Wattpad began pausing often. I am not sure if this is a Wattpad issue or if my phone was hanging. So please let me know if there are any mistakes as I was unable to write this update smoothly
_________His retreating figure startled Meerab, who froze in her spot, regretting her words. Her heart tightened as she watched him leave, and she became consumed with anxiety—fear of losing him, dread of not being able to defend herself. Her lips quivered as she realized that he was gone, leaving her alone, and that he had warned her not to touch him—something she never imagined he would say because he was usually kind and caring with her. The chilly wind felt like a slap across her face, and the booming echo reminded her of what she had just lost. A husband, a man who became her solace and healed her broken heart. She is aware that he is the reason she smiles and is the girl she is today. Like a nightmare, the darkness surrounded her; it was the darkness she had chosen for herself, the life she had destroyed.
She is feeling guilty yet again. For driving him to the brink of hatred and abandoning her. Since she has already caused him enough pain, she cannot hold him responsible for leaving her. Murtasim left her in severe grief, and she has been unable to shake her uneasiness. She has already realized that she behaved impulsively, but it is too late to admit her mistake. Although he never prevented her from touching him, his warning today alarmed her, making her feel abandoned, damaged, and powerless once more.
"Mam, are you fine?", one officer asked Meerab, who came outside to check the cameras and to check the fingerprints and found her standing with tears.
"Yes, I am," Meerab said, wiping away her tears before stepping back to get her phone and moving behind Murtasim since she needed to save her relationship with him anyhow . She can not bear to lose him, and her happiness is based on their relationship , which is her top priority right now. The only reason she is still alive and happy is because of him and their beautiful relationship. When she walked inside Saba's room, she saw that everything was OK now and that Saba was standing close to the window, gazing out. She turned when she sensed Meerab and inhaled deeply to clear the misunderstanding since she did not want to become a home breaker.
"I am not sure whether you would believe me, but Murtasim and I have nothing to do with each other. He is like a brother to me, and this money—" Saba replied, pointing her hand at the money in a cunning way, like she never expected money to be an issue. Meerab never hesitated to help anyone, and the fact that she was angry with Murtasim for using her money irritated Saba. Perhaps he did not even use the money that she is accusing him of. Even if he did, it was not wrong since she granted him the permission to do so.
"This is his salary, which he offered to me because I had already lost everything, and he was only trying to help me. I guess he did not use your money. Additionally, I invited him to spend some time—not overnight—with me. I was, and still am, scared. He was assuring me like a brother, and I can not image doing anything like that. I am not sure whether he goes to brothels, but I am confident he would never cheat on you. He adores you, and you should not have questioned his loyalty. You were not like this, Meerab. You had blind faith in Rohail; why can not you trust Murtasim now? His love is unconditional" Saba asked in a raspy voice, her voice dripping with pain as she could not believe Meerab had accused him. She had never thought of Murtasim in that manner before, even when she stated he wanted a guy like him.
"Because my trust was destroyed when I met him, but when I was with Rohail I believed nobody can betray me," Meerab replied, regretfully glancing at the ground. Her heart is pounding with intense guilt. She wants to rush following him for an apology , but she is unable to do so at this time. And after hearing Saba's statements, she felt compelled to explain to her why she can not trust anyone.
