It's one of those rare days where Adela and Franco get some free time.
His schedule's really amped up now after becoming a Formula 1 driver — and Franco can't lie and say that he hasn't missed getting some longer breaks. The two walk down a busy street packed with people shopping.
Her fingers are locked with his, soft music playing as the two of them share the earphones connected to Adela's phone — Franco's got one side in his ear, and the other's in Adela's. The string dangles in between their arms as Franco talks animatedly about his new training regimen.
"The neck thing. Ugh, I hate it." he says, groaning. Adela softly chuckles. "My neck's always sore. Thank god you don't come see me when I'm doing the neck training. It's so... not sexy."
Adela fails to stifle a laugh. "What?"
"The device! It literally looks like a dog muzzle," he says, shaking his head.
"Okay, but still. You always look good to me." Adela says, and Franco gives her a teasing look.
"Even when I have a dog muzzle looking device on my head and I'm being yanked around?" he asks, and Adela smiles.
"Even then," she replies.
"You're so cheesy." Franco quips, and he presses a kiss to her cheek. "As if you're not," Adela groans.
The two eventually find a bookshop — Franco doesn't even need Adela to say anything or give him any ideas that she wants to head in. He follows her around the store as she scans the selections, humming to herself as she picks up a collection of poetry.
"Does this look interesting?" she whispers to Franco quietly, holding the book out to him. He flicks through some of the pages, skimming over the words. "Yeah. I think you'll like this one," he hums. "They're all love poems."
"It's why I picked it up. Maybe I'll be able to write you better love letters after reading this," she says with a twinkle in her eye. Franco can't stop the wide grin that stretches across his lips.
The two continue to look around the bookstore, and Franco smiles when he sees Adela's eyes light up when she finds a book that she thinks she'll enjoy. He's so helplessly in love with her, he thinks.
"Okay. I think I'm done." she grins, showing him the four books that she'd picked out. She's practically buzzing with happiness as she heads towards the counter with Franco, and the cashier greets the two with a bright smile.
"Aren't you two adorable," she says, noticing the shared headphones and their intertwined hands. "Thank you," Adela says — she fishes her wallet out of her bag, but Franco's faster and taps his card on the scanner.
"Fran!" she says, and he grins. "What?" he asks, as the lady chuckles, packing up Adela's books and putting them into a paper bag.
"You didn't have to do that," she says.
"I wanted to pay for something my girlfriend wanted. Let me do something nice, okay?" he says, squeezing her hand. The lady hands Franco the bag, and he takes it from her gladly with a smile.
"Thank you," he says, and the lady nods.
"He's a keeper," she mouths to Adela, and she stifles a giggle. "I know," Adela mouths back.
"Thank you for that, Fran." she says when they've left the bookstore. She stops him in his tracks to press a kiss to his lips, and when they part, she notices how his cheeks are dusted with the slightest shade of pink. She can't help but giggle at his expression.
"You're so cute," she hums, and she hears Franco let out a laugh.
"And I'd say the same thing about you."
