Gerald's p.o.v
"We finally made it guys!" I said out loud to my team who has stuck by me since day one and who I'm very grateful for. "And I just want to tell you guys how much I'm proud of all of us, because this, this right here is what you call a real team so I just wanted to thank all of you and dedicate this drink to us, the team that has officially made it." We all raise our drink in the air and bring it back down for a sip.
While I sit at the bar some people come up to congratulate me and to say goodbye because they're leaving. But after most of the people leave I see Devon coming up to me. She has such a beautiful smile, and she looks so happy. I love seeing her like this. "Hey" she says.
"Hey"
"Wow can you believe this is really happening." She said.
"Yeah I've waited for this moment for so long, I would say all my life." I thought for a little before I said "But I feel like there's something missing but I can't figure it out." I lied I knew what was missing it was her, Devon. I've had feelings for her for a while I don't want to tell her, because she has a boyfriend she always talks about him when he's not around and the way she looks at him, I really feel like she loves him and I can't take that away from her. "I know right it's like I have everything and yet it feels like there's something missing, but I don't know what it is." She says with a chuckle. We both look at each other for a minute and she breaks the silence by saying "So! Let's order around of shots to celebrate!"
"Agreed!" I say. I order two shots of whiskey and we hold them up to each other.
"To you." She says.
"To us" I correct her. We both chug it down at the same time. "Keep em coming" I tell the bar tender.
*Devon's phone beeps*
"Oh Stevens here I have to go sorry but I had a really good time and congratulations again" we give each other a hug "Bye" she says. "Bye I say with a little disappointment.
