I managed to get out of the hotel without anyone seeing me and got myself a cab. As I sat there in the cab I thought to myself what happened in there? How did it get that far? Does Gerald have feelings for me? What about Steven?
All these thoughts running through my head.
Finally when I got home I went up to my place which Steven and I share.
Right as I stepped inside out soho I headed straight for the shower. After I was done I just sat on my bed with only my towel wrapped around me. And before I knew it I was sleeping.
"Hey honey" Steven woke me up. "You should get dressed"
"Why?" I ask
"Well if you don't want to i'm totally okay with that." He said laughing.
"Oh I forgot to change after I took a shower, but it's okay I'll do it now. Um when did you get home?" I asked
"Umm just now."
"Really? It's 1:15." I say
"Uhh yeah Ben and I stayed a little bit longer, I was wondering where you were and since you didn't answer my calls I called Gerald and asked him where you were." I froze his name.
"Oh really what did he say?"
"He said you got tired and went home." He said
I was really glad that Gerald didn't say anything. I wouldn't know what to tell Steven, I wouldn't know how to explain myself.
While I was changing I remembered my dream. It was about me and explaining what happened to Steven. But he didn't take it well and he ended up leaving. God that dream made me sure I didn't want to tell Steven but I don't know what to do. I needed to text Ally she's my best friend. I need to tell her what happened. I know she can give me advice and help me out.
*Devon texts Ally*
Devon-hey could we meet up tomorrow grab coffee and talk?
Ally-of course, I would love that.
Devon-great! I'll talk to you tomorrow goodnight sweet dreams xoxo
Ally-alrighty then goodnight xoxo
*Next Day*
I sit waiting for Ally arrive while I wait I take a sip from my coffee.
"Hey so sorry I'm late I got held up." Ally says.
"It's alright I ordered you your favorite caramel frappe." I say with a chuckle.
"Thank you! So how you been?"
"I've been well how've you been?" I ask.
"Oh I've been good nothing really new." She says.
I look down trying to find a way to tell her what happened. She immediately notices something wrong and asks "what's wrong?"
After I explained everything that happened. She starts by saying "I told you Gerald had feeling for you!! I knew it!"
"I don't think so Ally, we were just drunk. But now I can't stop thinking about him, I know I've had feelings for him a while back, but I always shut those feelings out, and now I can't do that anymore no matter how hard I try I can't make these so what called feelings go away." I say
"Devon I know you won't trust me on this but, I see the way he looks at you and I see the way you look at him I always try to tell you but you tend to shut me out on those things."
"I know I know. But I can't leave Steven. He has done a lot for me and he takes care of me and he treats me well, but." I stop and at starts saying "Yeah but you can't just base your relationship on those things, you need love, passion."
"I know." I stop her but she kept going on. "And besides it's like he is in love with his work and he doesn't always have time for you. I honestly don't really see him trying I see you trying."
I stop her and say "He really does try."
"Yeah but not hard enough." she replies.
After Ally and I said goodbye I decided to go back to my place and just have a bath and some wine that was very much needed.
*Gerald's P.O.V.*
I really wanted to talk to Devon but I didn't want to have that conversation over the phone, so I drove over to her place.
After I got there I knocked and no one opened. I guess they were out. So I remembered that Dev always forgot her keys so she left a spare in the little plant next to her door she always kept it buried under the biggest rock.
Jackpot! After I open the door I decided to wait for Dev. And I knew that Steven worked late on Saturdays so I wasn't worried about him coming home first.
