Chapter two

It's been almost a week since school started, today is Friday, my favorite day. I woke up around 5:00AM, and for some reason I was energized. I only have to go in for two of my classes today, because my last two are free periods. I've always been a good student. I mean there are points in the year where I fall out, but I always pick myself back up. I put on jean shorts and an oversized T-shirt after my shower. I did my skincare and makeup routine slowly, since I had some time. Noah, Sophia, and I agreed to go out tonight to some club later tonight. I've been there before, since my mom is part owner and I can get us in within seconds. I drank my morning coffee, and eventually headed out the door.

I got into my car, and I decided to go with my childhood playlist. I took my time driving to school, already dreading going into Crime and Justice. I'm pretty sure Ms. Bitch is making us do a summative today, but thankfully I studied, so it shouldn't be a problem. I get to school at 6:48, and I make my way to the classroom. I checked my Life360, and apparently Noah and Sophia are already here. I haven't had any arguments with Ms. Fox since the first day, and I'm assuming she picked her TA because she hasn't mentioned it since. Today is the 11th of September, and I hate the number 11. Anything that has to do with the number 11, I hate it. My dad died on December 11th, so I've hated the number since then. I get into the classroom, and spot Noah and Soph.

"Hey, pretty. How are you?" Soph asks me, with a knowing look on her face.

"I'm fine. Just need to get through today," I sigh knowing that both Noah and Soph know about the 11th, and what it means to me. My mom always told me to get over it, and just stay worried about December 11th, but I couldn't. My half birthday is July 11th too, so that doesn't help either.

"Morning students. I have picked my TA for the school year, and I just sent an email to the person, with information. Anyways, i'm handing out your summative tests. You'll have 20 minutes, and after that there's a group project i'll be giving you all." Ms. Fox announced, and I couldn't help but hope that the TA wouldn't be me, or else I'd be setting myself up for failure.

Of course the universe had other plans for me, since my phone buzzed. I checked it and I let out a groan. Great, i'm the lucky TA. Ms. Fox handed out our tests, and I glided through the questions, finishing in just under 10 minutes.

After she explained our group project, Noah, Soph, and I started working on it. I pulled out my laptop just like both of them, then we started working on it. We had to pick an unfinished case, and finish it to how we would do it. The project was pretty easy, so the three of us decided on who's doing which part, and started working on it. The slides were due by our next class, so Monday. I read the TA email, and it said I'd need to be with her after school three times a week. THREE? I'm actually going to jump out the window, no way in hell I am going to be able to be with her 3 days a week from 1:20-3:00PM. As soon as the bell rings, we go to our next class, with is AP calculus. I'm not the type of person to hate math, especially if the teacher teaches really well, but AP calc goes by so slow. The teacher even made a seating chart, so the three of us don't even sit remotely close to each other. We had some packet to finish, so thats what I worked on for the class period.

After we got out of class, I didn't know what to do. Do I go to the TA session now, or do I have to come back at 1:20. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask Ms. Fox, so after I said bye to Soph and Noah, I went to her classroom. I didn't feel like knocking so I went in.

"Ms. Fields, did your mom never teach you to knock?" She asked in her cold tone, not even bothering to look at me.

"She did but I just don't care. Anyways, technically, I don't have to be in school for the rest of the day, so am I supposed to come back for it later, or do I stay?" I asked looking at her with no emotion, because I didn't care about what she said.
