EIGHTEEN green meets green
—"THEN WE'L ALL sin together." jaehaera stated, her voice confident and sure of her words.
alicent's eyes widened drastically, her eyes flickering between jaehaera's violet ones. "jaehaera!" alicent breathed out in shock, her heart pounding in her chest and filling her ears. alicent was acting as if jaehaera was suggesting they were plotting a plan to kill the king.
alicent couldnt believe jaehaera was suggesting something so absurd. alicent's hand that was cupping jaehaera's face loosened but jaehaera held her hand tighter.
alicent hesitated, torn between her religious beliefs and her heart's desires. "i can't." alicent finally said bitterly, her heart crumbling in guilt from how hard she must've been making it for jaehaera.
despite alicent's refusal, jaehaera didn't once stop. jaehaera would never stop when it came to alicent and rhaenyra, striving to win their hearts over, no matter the cost.
"you say it's a sin but wouldn't God truly want you to be with the person you love, since he loves everyone equally." jaehaera's words made alicent pause and the queen tried to come up with an excuse but found none.
jaehaera never read about religion but she had seen a few words in books and had picked up on them, but her memory was vague on the religious beliefs that other people had.
jaehaera's eyes seemed to be searching alicent's, as if staring into her soul with so much love it overwhelmed alicent.
jaehaera's lips parted, her tongue darting out to lick her lips. "please, just give it a try, a-and if you hate it, we'll stop." jaehaera tried to convince alicent, her voice breaking from holding so much emotion.
it was silent for a moment, with just them both staring into eachothers eyes. a battle was going on in alicent's head, fighting between love and law. all her life alicent had always picked law, marrying viserys, having targaryen children, doing her duties. but perhaps for once, alicent needed to put herself first for once, maybe she needed to feel something. no, she craved to feel something, freedom. with jaehaera, alicent felt free, most likely because of jaehaera's easy personality but jaehaera made her feel loved, made her feel needed, made her feel like someone and not just some heir producer.
